Kinda reminds me of the German license plates while I was stationed here.

Anyone that was ever stationed in Germany can tell you their license plates are by the closest decent sized city and often have one, two or three letters as the start of the license plate. I.E. Wittlich city's codes started with "WIT" or "KL" for Kaiserslauten. First three letters are followed by two letters and three numbers.

In Spangdahlem, they used the local town code of Bitburg as the plates issued to American forces. So, you have BIT as the town code followed by two more letters and numbers. And when the BIT CH plates came into base, everyone had a chuckle. Until a couple of overly sensitive folks complained about it and they replaced them with the BIT DA series.

The "category" is humor that some believe to be "over the line." You are correct on one thing at least....I'm still dumbfounded over the election and that state seems to be increasing rather than decreasing. But you and this site do help by providing a glimpse into the mind of a Trump supporter/Hillary hater.

This was going to go one of two ways:

No one comments, you remark that everyone here must be ok with what the kid did because we're all racists.

Someone denounces it, you admonish them for being a wuss. But still racists.

I didn't think it would go either of those two ways.

I knew most all on this site would think the kid was a jerk and wrong.

I also knew that almost none would see the comparison to their own humor and how it is viewed by people who think it crosses the line.

Instead of asking them to learn to "read for content", perhaps you should learn to express yourself clearly in context.

When does something "cross the line"?

Who gets to draw that line?

What do I think, say, and do when something / someone crosses the line?

What do I think, say, and do when someone else thinks something crosses the line but I do not?

What do I think, say, and do when someone thinks something I said or posted crosses the line?

Find the humor in your own behaviors.
