No one calls successful Black people Uncle Tom's. There are some self hating Black people and Black people who bash other Black people to White people to show how not "Black" or not "regular Black" they are. They get called names by some. I just think they are sad personally.

I know plenty of educated and successful Black people. No one calls anyone an Uncle Tom unless it is someone going out of their way to distance themselves from the Black community and or who looks down on other Black people and minorities.

Neither one of you have any idea of what you are talking about or how Black people talk about or view other Black people.

Bears reposting. Watching my sister and two cousins live this I've come to believe the only white people who truly understand race descrimination are those in bi-racial marriages of any mix. In my cases one black/white, and two asian/white. Imagine many of your 'non-racist' acquaintences you thought were friends, who never said one thing you thought racist who find excuses to not ever socialize with you or your 'not like me' spouse. It was heartbreaking to watch my sister's 'friends' drop away when she was dating her future husband. A minister, no less. My cousin's wives have their extended community of other asian wives.

Foreign wives must assimilate as best they can. But white wives of African American men and their husbands all too often find themselves not truly accepted in either community. This is my main problem now. Racism ansolutely is a two say street. Too many in the black community will not accept their own racist actions.

Was it racially motivated? Maybe, but why challenge the officer's authority? I do believe the officer's reaction stepped over bounds, and it could very possibly be racially motivated, but I won't pretend like I know what the officer's motivations were. Race? Simply being challenged? Maybe a threat was made? Maybe the officer was having a bad day and took it out on the first person he could? I have no idea, but to immediately jump to "that's racism" is bigotry itself, imo. I in no way condone the officer's actions, but it doesn't make it racial just because the officer was white and the suspect/victim was black.

On the surface it looks extreme to me. We can't hear what was said. As far as racially motivated, you'd have to get into the officer's heart to determine that.

I would like to add to my previous post to elaborate a little bit on what goes on in jail for those who have never been there. I cant speak about prison because I have never been there, just made a dumb mistake as a teenager aND paid my debt. Including restitution and 4 years probation afterwards.

The real bullcrap about the pack mentality that exists in there is that nobody ever has the balls to call you out 1 on 1 for being white and meet you man to man like in the movies or on TV. What happens is you get club punched in the temple or the chair kicked out from under you when you're sitting down and then 4 or 5 guys are hitting or kicking you while you try to choke the life put of the closeSt 1 to you or get as many blows to the head or body on who you can reach. There is no honor. There is no courage. Just a bunch of beaches that jump on you or crack your ribs with haymakers while you are tangled up with someone else. There are plenty of people out there who can whip my tail,no doubt. But I have absolutely zero respect for anyone who needs a handful of their buddies to whip a man. There's no glory in that, regardless of who is doing it.

Since the day I got out of jail at 17 years old I have carried a 4inch blade in my front pocket everywhere I go for this reason. Even church, just aS a matter of habit. I will never get jumped again by a group of people without stabbing or slicing as many as I can, as much as possible. It'S sad that that's the way things are. Need to keep a gun in the truck and a blade in your pocket just to protect yourself and those you care about. I will never get caught unprepared though. Lesson with was learned well.

Stopped at a Chik Fil A in Nashville on the way back from Memphis a while back. After ordering I pulled around to the window to pay. They had a sign stuck in the ground right at the pickup window "Now Hiring. Starting at $10/Hr". So it's out there to be had and CFA isn't the only place. But many demanding $15/hr don't or won't have the work ethic anyway that places willing to pay higher wages demand.

Anyone see the humor in this? Attending a private Christian school and protest a restaurant for its stance on same sex marriage. Have they looked at the Catholic church's stance,or the bible's stance recently?

Chick-fil-A typically closes on Sundays, but this Sunday was different.

Workers from the Chick-fil-A Lee Vista in Orlando, Florida, went to work Sunday to offer free food to those lining up to give blood to help those injured in the shooting at LGBT club Pulse.

While Chick-fil-A has not released a statement on this particular gesture, a spokeswoman told The Huffington Post there are exceptions to their Sunday policy.

I can confirm that while we have a corporate policy that firmly states we are closed for business on Sundays, there have been rare cases that move our local operators to respond with food donations to help communities in need. The events in Orlando stirred our local restaurant owners and their teams to band together to provide nourishment to first responders as well as volunteers who donated blood. We do not think this requires any recognition. It is the least we can do in this community we love.
