That's My Quarterback

A lot people were blaming Heupel and saying his offense is washed and too predictable... but the difference between now and 2021-2022 was Hooker was on the money with those deep balls.
I know i saw a lot of receivers running free a ton last year. They were either missed and not thrown to or they were thrown to and missed. Along with a hell of a year running the ball. All without running the warp speed offense. I think Heupel's O is fine

I like his vibe as well, but all QB's or new players come in with that positive vibe which is rehearsed. It will be interesting to see who wins the QB battle. Do any of these QB's have the ability to win at the swamp or defend Neyland against GA?

It seems like, if nothing else, his attitude is a good addition to the QB room. You can tell hes self-confident but comes off laid back. Has been through the battles and is ok winning his spot while also helping his teammates get better also. The thing I liked most was how he smartly avoided giving them soundbites. They tried a few times to get him to say certain things he really shouldn't. Like the question about talent level here and at UCLA. Smart dude.

I am loving this kid more and more every day. I love his attitude, and he seems to have that IT factor. If he comes in and balls out it will be one of the most inspirational moments in CFB.

What Yall think?

He certainly seems poised, relaxed, and confident. I am excited to see how he carries that on the field

I‘m pulling for all the guys, don’t care who wins the starting job. I do think there are only 2 options to open the season. Merck and Joey because of experience and body strength. I think with time, MacIntyre will become a great leader, but just not ready at this point.
Best case scenario for me is Merck wins the job with Joey being the backup. This allows the team to gel around a guy who will be here in 2026 and not have a 3rd
consecutive year of a new starter. I think most believe Joey will emerge as the starter but I see it a different way. I think Joey was brought in as insurance. An experienced guy who possibly could exceed expectations of only being here 3 months, but would be able to step in, in the caseof injury and protect McIntyre from being thrown in before he is physically ready.

Lots of variance for path adjustment at the moment. Looking forward to see how it plays out, too.
