When we threw it three times in a row after the big Nuke gain on the first drive, we should have know it was over.

I watched the LK show and he said on the first throw to Hancock he, "figured it be an easy pass...."

Then it's second and long, we throw AGAIN over the middle... A bullet to hancock is thrown in front of him, out of reach and high.
THEN on 3rd and long crompton throws a short pass to Jones that may have gained 4 yards maybe but had no chance for a 1st down.

I'm tired of CLK wasting opportunities to score in order to get JC confidence up. It cost us the AU game and almost cost us the Ohio game.

We've got two great RBs and we didn't run the ball on that drive??? What the heck?

Then we miss the FG and every bit of momentum we had after the first play is gone. Nice coaching... ;-) but hey, CLK is invested in JC, so he needs him to get things turned around or else it looks bad on Kiffin for starting JC from the get go. And every game JC starts the more CLK invests in him. Garbage...

Yeah I'm still confused as to why we didn't run the ball on that first drive after Nuke big play. I can understand maybe a pa pass on first down to try and catch them off guard but come on 3 consecutive passes.

I knew we were in trouble when their fans cheering the arrival of their team bus outperformed our fans cheering the Vol Walk. And it wasn't even close.

I think it's pretty obvious that CLK like's to use the pass to open up the run. Unfortunately for us, we cannot pass.

I think the vast majority of the seasoned Vol Faithful were wonding the same thing as to why you start passing versus pounding with the running game to get close enough for a chip shot field goal. 3 Points at that point in the game would have stoked the crowd and gave UT some major momentum. Instead, it was like letting the air out of a balloon. Regardless, I have confidence in this Coaching Staff and have no doubt that years 2 and 3 will have the Vols back in the hunt for the SEC and Major Bowl games. I'm still hoping we can get invited to a Bowl this year. :good!:

I agree, but at some point these decisions (play calling, continuing to play JC, etc..)have to be a cause for concern.

Don't see a bowl happening for this year. Sorry. i've been to all 4 home games this year and the way this team is progressing we will win 5 games this year. Don't like to think that way but I'm realistic.

IMO the storyline from that game was UT wasn't able to run against Auburn's D. Hardesty averaged 4.3 yds. Crompton threw the ball 43 times. I'm fairly certain the gameplan wasn't for Crompton to throw the ball 40 times in that game.

Really?

My god that is pitiful.

Something is really wrong in Knoxville.

I have seen hard core fan support decline over the years. Neyland is not a scary place to play anymore. We have played 2 SEC games now and have yet to be in the lead once.

I used to think we were re-living the early 80's again but the fan support back then was huge and rawdy. Now we can't even get excited about the team pre game?

Yeah, something is very, very wrong.
