I'm still riding that emotional wave that we all experienced on Saturday night. Turmoil, anger, hope, anguish, relief, astonishment are some words to describe how many of us felt through the game. But something bigger happened to me (twss?)

Anyways, y'all know me kind of. Vol fan in KY, born and raised in Hendersonville (product of Beech - woo Hurd!). This past May, I turned 31....which also marked 31 years of loving the vols. I lived through our best times, and as all of you know, those times left well after our BCS championship, slowly fading away. We've had great wins, but none as big as our victory against Florida in 2004 (Wilhoit, another product of my hometown!) I was at that game and it's one of my favorites to this day and rightfully so.

I often use the word "magical" when I talk about the season where we won the national championship. I was almost 16 years old, and barely had lived enough to let the world rip me apart. We see things differently when we are younger, and that's how I saw that season, and it always gave me a different feeling, like no matter what happened, the vols would prevail, and everything was gonna be ok. The field goal miss in overtime (on the side I was sitting at the game) was magical. I stressed over the Arkansas game, but felt like something would happen, and sure enough, it did. Fast forward to the BCS game (and I've described this in detail before on here), every time it started snowing heavily at our home in Hendersonville, I'd get this feeling that something was about to happen, whether that was followed by a long td catch by peerless price or an INT by Goodrich, it just felt magical.

Growing older, you only find so many things that give you this feeling....for me, seeing my daughters experiencing life, is magical. Saturday night was magical. I hadn't felt that from a football game since 2004. Even when we were down by 14 with a few minutes left, I didn't care....something felt different and I had this feeling that the game would end in a shocker and the emotions were overwhelming. I felt like a kid again.

Being in the same age range, we have basically seen the best and worst time in vols history. I know people older than us hsve seen bad times come back around to those good times. We havent seen the comeback yet. Saturday was a great start to get us back to the goodtimes. We came back and won a game we had 0.9% chance of winning. We saw a qb who seems to have the talent AND the attitude to win some games and lead this team. It has been a long time since i was smiling after a tennessee game. IT felt good! It seems it finally coming together for our vols and we have a lot more talent on the way. GO VOLS!

That feeling you had was "I've seen crazier things happen in college football" when we're down 14 with 5 minutes left. Then you think "it's gotta happen to us sometime". That's what always keeps me watching.

33 yrs old.. was at every home game in 98, and remember how magical Neyland stadium was and this year I've gotten those same feelings back. 1998-1999 my senior year in high school what a year! Saturday felt different than games I've been at in the past 5 years. Felt like a kid again for sure.

I'm like you, I've had a relieving sense of happiness since the missed FG. These past 4 days have been great, and I look forward to the next 9 before we take the fight back to Neyland to finish the season strong. Feels good to be happy and hopeful about the Vols again.
