I went to my first game in Neyland this weekend and enjoyed it - i was told by my UK friends who've gone in in the past that it was a tough place for a visiting fan but I thought everyone I ran into was really nice - Thanks for the hospitality I will be back year after next

I have never been to a Vols road game. I was wondering what you guys thought about which environments were best/worst for being an opposing fan. I know it's hard to be objective, but are we ruder or nicer than our opponents. I know I have heard that Georgia and Florida were no place for children. It doesn't seem like Neyland is that bad, although it did get pretty raucous in the Bama game. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT IT IS FOR THE ROAD TEAM. I want Neyland to be loud and hostile! I am talking about what percentage of opposing fans go home crying (ok, hopefully not crying) because they were threatened, punched, pelted, or mocked.

I heard the stories about Georgia but had a great time when I went there this year. I went solo and everyone was extremely nice. Their fans were extremely friendly. I asked a lady for a good place to eat breakfast and she practically walked me there. Another fan told me about a shortcut to get home. They all wanted to make sure I enjoyed Athens and had a good time. During the game I stood tall and cheered loud along with 4 other Vol fans who happened to be nearby. Nobody said a word or even gave us a dirty look. After it was over, many fans offered their condolences and wished UT better days.
I haven't traveled to many other SEC towns but my opinion is if you're respectfully of their place they will treat you decently. Its kinda like going over someone else's house. If you try to trash the place, its gonna get ugly.
