Twice as long as they gave for the MU vs Iowa Insight bowl. They did 10 minutes on bama msu, did a cpl other bowls, then came back to do another 5 mins on bama msu game. Pitiful

Blasphemy perhaps, but strictly as a football fan, the Bama-Michigan St. matchup is infinitely more interesting.

I've come to realize that some people will just b**ch and moan about anything.:cray:

Let me pose an honest question... When Tennessee was a serious contender and pulling in 10 win seasons, did you give a damn about hearing who was playing in the MUSIC CITY BOWL??? Just curious.

posing an honest question isn't the problem.

getting an honest answer.....that's a different story.

A very realistic perspective on precisely why we won't hear much about it on national TV.... EVER!

Its purpose is to give the team time to practice for next year and to show how stupid Hamilton was for buying out a game against an ACC opponent. That will be the national tag line for the game. It's an embarrassment of cowardice whether he uses some creative accounting to justify it or not. It's football.

UT should have manned up and played the game that was scheduled. The best athletes in the world are not looking to play for Boise State. They want to play real games and UNC is hardly at the top of the football pecking order.

Clemson needs an AD, but they know better than to hire Hamilton, a Clemson grad. Why don't we?

This may end up happening, but at the same time, if UNC beats us and then we turn around and beat Buffalo next year and that puts us over the hump for bowl eligibility in 2011, it'll be hard to say he made the wrong call.

I was hoping for a little more coverage, but liked that they only talked about TN, not UNC at all, and only played TN highlights (No UNC). The highlights were all of Bray throwing TD's in the last five games. Holtz talked about Bray coming in and making the SC game close. Resse talked about TN winning last four to become bowl eligible after Bray became starter. All this with TN TD highlights in the background. Pretty good IMO.

Honestly, I was just happy they didn't mention that TN bought out of the 2011 matchup.

As a side note:

Did anyone notice how brutal they were to USCjr? They spent several minutes analyzing the fact that if SC gets beat in their Bowl game it will be "just another five loss season for South Carolina." May chimed in and said "they're still the same ole game cocks."

Brutal. (and living down here I loved it)

Since half of the ESPN crew discussing BCS bowl played for Big 10 schools I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when one of the guys mentioned how the Big 10 must feel not being elgible for a higher BCS seating because their schedule is so tough. I'm thinking finally in 50 years you have teams even close to the top 10 as the SEC does just about every year and you do not have a championship series playoff is so you are the ones waiting every year for the top SEC team to lose so you can sit and watch and move up ahead of us in the BCS poll. Totally unfair. Had Auburn lost Saturday, that would be the case just like when UT lost to LSU. The SEC Championship works against us imo.Just saying. I can't pay attention to the possibility of Big 10 bias from ESPN former Big 10 players. Just an opinion that turned into a rant. Sorry.

Didn't read through this thread, but based on the title I thought this would be relevant...

Out of all the bowls ranked by "attractiveness" of the matchup, Rivals.com has the MCB ranked as #25 out of 35 bowls. Thought that was interesting considering...

Gator Bowl ranked #7 with Miss St. vs. Michigan
Liberty Bowl ranked #14 with Georgia vs. UCF

I don't understand how, but I guess the MCB matchup is only attractive to UT fans. I thought this would be a big matchup based on Bray/UT momentum and the UT/UNC buyout. Guess not.

First of all, I don't think I was "*****ing and moaning" about anything. I just kinda watched up until that point hoping for them to say one thing about the GAME. I didnt say anything about the Vols. Simply observing it was a bit of a letdown. Just kinda wished they had given a quick preliminary thought, other than stating Tennessee is on a 4 game win streak.

It's a small complaint and I'm sorry that it came across like I was whining.

The last four years when Kentucky was here, would you want to hear ESPN go on and on about them? Of course not. It is what it is, it's really not that big of a deal.

Didn't think I was making a big deal. More of an observance really. It was simply kind of a buzzkill to have them pass it off like that after waiting for 30 minutes.
