Thanks for the analysis ESPN

I thought it was funny how Boise instantly fell off the face of ESPN's earth the second they lost to Nevada. I'm not surprised the Miss. St./Michigan Gator Bowl didn't get a lot of airtime. I was just saying if it had been UT/Mich, people would have been significantly more excited about the matchup. I imagine that's one of the main reasons the Gator Bowl even considered us in the first place.

You may be right. I think we'll get more air time leading up to the game on 12/30 than we would on new years day though considering there will be less games to cover on 12/30 than 1/1. In the long run, we'll get more visibility in the MCB due to less air time competition than we would in the Gator bowl.

Nothing like an honest assessment of the situation.

FYP

The OP was complaining about not getting any airtime from ESPN to analyze our bowl matchup. The reason we didn't is simple. It's not like ESPN intentionally slighted UT, we simply aren't relevant on the national stage at this point in time. I'd be surprised if ESPN has EVER done a serious breakdown of the MCB matchup on their bowl preview show.

I just prefer to think of it as we are on our way out of irrelevance. Sounded to me like you think we are still on the way down. Like you, I dont expect ESPN to give us as much pub as other bowl games, its just where we are now. Hopefully not for long. GBO!

The positives:

1. They only talked about us. (and not UNC)

2. They talked about how big of a turn around Bray has given our team.

To be 6-6 thats enough for me :good!:

I kno man i had to tell my wife to hush and it was only like 30 seconds long lol:no:

Twice as long as they gave for the MU vs Iowa Insight bowl. They did 10 minutes on bama msu, did a cpl other bowls, then came back to do another 5 mins on bama msu game. Pitiful

Glad you mentioned this, it reminds me of something very important. I hate Alabama.

With Reese Davis being an Al. grad, plus they have quite a few other Al. grads working there, you will get that kind of bull s**t. Don't know for sure, but some of the "higher ups" are supposedly Al. grads too.

Oh they'll do some more on the bowl game down the road, you know the 2 programs in an oscilating fan of **** with the ncaa. It will probably be a big joke. Just kidding but probably true.

I've come to realize that some people will just b**ch and moan about anything.:cray:

Let me pose an honest question... When Tennessee was a serious contender and pulling in 10 win seasons, did you give a damn about hearing who was playing in the MUSIC CITY BOWL??? Just curious.

Thats how I look at it. No one cares, except for the fans. Nice story about UT's turnaround from a 2-6 to get a bowl bid from the media's standpoint, but it's not a big deal nationally.

That's the thing... Las Vegas Bowl will get more coverage than the Music City Bowl being the fact that Utah and Boise could beat ether Tennessee and North Carolina.
not hating just speaking the truth.

The last four years when Kentucky was here, would you want to hear ESPN go on and on about them? Of course not. It is what it is, it's really not that big of a deal.
