I’m still thinking this team has to take it up another level to win 6 games. QB play is simply too mediocre to expect to go 4-2 the rest of the way. Still, yesterday’s win changes the narrative of this season a great deal. Can you imagine being 1-5 with Bama on deck followed by a South Carolina team which just beat Georgia? Right now the Vols are still a 4 or 5 win team in my opinion. Hopefully Maurer comes back a little wiser with handling that ball and the game slows down starting with the fighting chickens.

The above is part of a 10/13/19 post from me I guess after we beat MSU. I truly thought this team was no where near a bowl team much less looking at a winning record and a chance at 3rd in the East. Obviously the team took it up a notch, especially the upperclassmen. Thanks to all of them for making this season one for me to be proud of as an alumnus and a fan as of game #11. Hopefully we can finish 7-5 with a great win over Candy and go to a nice bowl game. I was very concerned back in early October that this season was heading down the toilet and coach #5 since Fulmer was our destiny. Maybe now some of the recruits that were on the fence come over our way to join the rebuild as our coaching staff continues to grow.
