Thankfully ref swallows whistle!

Exactly. Wouldn't surprise me if they looked the other way cause he was being so whiny the whole game.

Actually watch the ref that Thompson was looking at as he was flopping. The ref was just shaking his head and you could almost see him rolling his eyes.

makeup for a certain personal foul on Chris Leak years ago

No, it doesn't make up for it. That call is still is and always will be utter BS.

I'm glad the call went our way and the refs didn't let one push decide the game, but O'Brien has to be smarter there and know that you absolutely can't do that.

So, by your standards there should be a personal foul called on pretty much every play

What? That's what you comprehended from that? Solid reading skills.

When a DB shoves a WR after a play for running his mouth is that intent to hurt? O'Brien's actions were no different than Dallas Baker's in 2004 where we benefited from a flag.

I was sitting not far from that play. The whistle hadn't blown.

Thats what I thought - he hadnt raised his arm either --- must have thought the knees never hit the ground or it would have been called

Barnett was just tackling through the end of the play. Sometimes shifty RB get thrown and only hit their hands and keep running. Not sure about the 2nd hit though

Sorry my reading skills aren't up to your standards. No need to attack when someone doesn't agree with you. But if you think O'brien was trying to hurt him you don't have a clue.

Dallas Baker basically stuck his hand in a face mask in a punch like way. O'Brien put his hands on a guy sliding toward him at the end of a play. There may have been a slight shove, but it just wasn't that blatant IMO.

I thought it was a good no call. There a little pushing and shoving after the whistle on nearly every play. As long as there nothing over the top and no punches thrown... Its usually not called, especially in the last couple of minutes. I thought it was great when I saw it and didn't worry that it was going to draw a flag

Again your reading skills are failing you. That's my whole point, he wasn't trying to hurt him. I said that not every personal foul carries the intent to hurt connotation. You're arguing a point I never made. The OP I responded to said a personal foul has to have the intent to hurt and I pointed out that it doesnt.

O'Brien shoved him as he tried to get up. Thompson's flailing around is what likely hindered his getting the benefit of the call. He went into seizure mode trying to sell it.

Agree...all this "defenseless QB bs has gone way too far. Its not like this was a cheap shot or something.

The call was egregious, we recovered that fumble on the kick off ...........wait

I'm agreeing with you on that. I'm just saying O'Brien's little shove is no different than the WR's/DB's on most every play.

Dont think thats a flop at all. I think he was reacting to the getting slung. It deff looks unnecessary and I believe he was like are you kidding me.

He had been whining all night for a call which is likely why the official just rolled his eyes when he got slung like a Frisbee. I really think O'brien was just trying to stop his rotation before his butt drilled a hole in the turf. :eek:lol:

That was our luck turning. Weve been screwed to many times in recent games by officials they've actually changed some rules. The curse is over!

Jancek spoke at a luncheon and, quoted in story, that he expected the flag to be thrown and told players, once on sideline, a big don't do that; guys caught up in emotion; not the kind of penalty to ever have.

O'Brien shoved him as he tried to get up.

No he didn't. Thompson slid into him after getting slung down and the "shove" came right after Thompson stopped. I was a lot more worried about the sling than I was the push.
