Thankfully ref swallows whistle!

Refs didn't miss any call. Whistle hadn't blown and the ref nor Barnett had seen the qbs knee down. Additionally, the qb was out of the pocket as a runner and not standing idle.

No whistle no call. Thompson was just a *****

When you're flat on your butt and get pushed its unnecessary roughness. I was fine with him getting slung because thats football. However it was the push that put all the gamecock fans into a meltdown. That was a no call plain and simple. If it had happened to Dobbs you guys would want the call as well.

There was a lot of acting going on, it was pretty obvious and that's why there was no flag thrown. It looked like Barnett wasn't sure he was down or not, I would rather him make 100% sure and that's what he did. If we gonna make an error , I'd rather it be because we were being over aggressive. I can live with that. Nasty defense....I love it.

Looks like you bought into his acting job. He cried like a bit&th the whole game. The arm flailing was particularly impressive.

They were letting them play all game, there were a couple pass interferences that weren't called that probably would have helped us out

That should have cost UT the game...They have to play smarter than that.

O'Brien should've been flagged and had his ass sit for the rest of the year had the flag come out. Even if it cost us games down the road. I would've let him know he cost his team the game and may cost them future games. There was no excuse for it. Sure, Thompson sold the brunt of the shove but he clearly shoved him for no reason as he was trying to get up. It was a boneheaded play.

Exactly. Wouldn't surprise me if they looked the other way cause he was being so whiny the whole game.

Oh yea, almost after every pass he was whinning to the ref, it's the ref's call and he's right there watching. SC's boards are all over it saying the refs cost them the game boo hooo!

Whined and cried, they were probably just tired of hearing him and chose to ignore him .

I thought the same when it happened, I remember it showing Thompson complaining to the ref on one play and the ref started saying something back and looked annoyed.

You mean when the Tennessee defenders took 2-3 steps after he released the ball and planted him. Yeah I'd get pissed to. I don't use the no call as a excuse because we both had equal opportunities in OT but Tennessee was given a gift on that no call. He was down and then got slung. Whistle blows then another defender pushed him while he was flat on his butt. No acting in that. Just pure shock that the refs allowed him to get mugged in broad daylight.

He flailed his arms around like a little girl. There was tons of acting. He went to the LeBron school of flop.

You're right, but that's football. If it was Dobbs, I would have been pissed that we didn't get the call, but I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised to not get it. And to be sure, that's not the reason you all lost. You lost because we had the most prolific offensive game we've had in 20 years.

It could have easily been called but (IMO) the refs didn't want to determine the outcome of the game.

If I was CBJ I'm using this as a teachable moment in film study as what not to do.

Not hard to do when the worse defense in the country goes into a prevent once they go up 14.

Just about every team has a moment that they can say the refs screwed them on. It sucks but it's definitely part of the game. I wish we could have beat y'all with a perfectly played clean game with no questionable calls, but I'll just take this win anyway.

You guys should grease the clock watcher in your game against UF pocket though, especially in field goal situations for them.

You better believe O'Brien is getting a major azz chewing after that idiocy. I was screaming at him from the couch when he did it. The other "late hits" on Thompson are mostly wishful thinking by USC fans. I don't think any of those should have been considered late or unnecessary. But O'Brien's shove was a legitimate penalty that was ignored. Glad for the outcome.

He should've been shocked that Spurrier made such a stupid playcall when all he had to do was hand it to Mike Davis and end the game.

I completely understand the misery your in. We've been living it for years now. It tends to make your eyes see things out of focus. You automatically see things with a skewed perspective when you barely lose. We've had that view too many times. It's ok, there's always next week. Just like I tell our fans that cry about the refs, quit grasping at straws. The refs aren't the reason we scored 14 points in 2 minutes.

Bravo for being able to come on our site after a tough loss without being overally biased. Good luck the rest of the year.

I was shocked that they didn't throw the flag and I think it would have been warranted if they had. Having said that, I've seen the same sort of thing happen many tmes without a flag being thrown. So it wasn't unprecedented. Honestly, the officiating is so arbitrary at times that it seems like the refs make decisions like that on a whim.

Don't forget the other 4 touchdowns and several hundred yards you gave up before that.

Thats all fine and dandy but when you go to a prevent you pretty much give up 60 yards for free in a quick matter of time. I believe had we played our regular defense you still would of scored but it would of ate up alot more clock. Of course this is just irrelevant speculation but I wouldn't get excited based on what your offense accomplished. You really did play one of the worse defenses in the country. Ill bet Florida will do the exact same thing to us in 2 weeks

Or just maybe that will teach players to not flop and beg for flags.

This isn't the Nba

All I've stated is you were given a gift. I never once said that is the sole purpose that we lost.
