I'm pleased with these freshmen. They're just normal freshmen of course...not uk freshmen. But if we can keep these base 5. Bone, Bowden, Fulkerson, Turner and Williams. Maybe add another shooter and a big guy, we will have a really good team the next three seasons.

Still holding out hope for the tourney of course.

Those guys are solid no doubt but let's not forget that hubbs is straight up ballin right now!!!!

Which is great if he continues having the best year of his career. That, plus Punter's development signal at least two things. Barnes can develop his players which should help attract higher rated recruits AND it indicates that those on the roster can elevate their game.

Austin is the only good thing about texas, but I am happy to have Barnes.

I have never been, but I hear Austin is an awesome city for a musician like myself. My composition professor at the real UT earned his doctorate from the 2nd UT, and he is also very complementary about the city.

His ability to floor coach is not questionable. His ability to recruit elite talent to UT is still to be seen. Last 3 games have been one really nice run.

He said he is doing what he did at Texas. Start with four year players that will develop nicely as a base. After the first couple of years go for bigger name NBA talent. That way you have a solid base and can build relationships with top players over a few years. He is following a gameplan that worked great for him at Texas.

I can vouch for Austin being a fun place. Sister in law and her family moved there and we visited last summer. It was a blast! Live music everywhere. Hope to visit them again soon. Thanks for Rick Barnes.....GO VOLS!!!

I think once the Big Name prospects sees the product Barnes is putting out they will come. There is a 2019 kid from Nashville showing a lot of interest named James Wiseman.

Look for UK,Duke & Memphis to push for Wiseman also. Barnes will have to really work for this kid. Winning and going to the Dance improves our chances. But if we settle for NIT trips you can forget this kid coming to UT. So imperative that UT make the dance this season. It's possible.

Austin is a great city. Funny that it is probably the most liberal city outside of the bay area. San Antonio is an easy drive as well.

Not saying I agree and it is WAY too early to get excited, but USA Today bracketology has us as an 11 seed:

USA TODAY Sports' bracketology: Big wins keep Kansas, Villanova as No. 1 seeds

Austin and the Dallas Cowboys are the only good things about Texas.

I don't hate Tim Duncan or Greg Poppovich. Two of the best to ever do it (Pop probably being the GOAT basketball coach honestly and Duncan the best player of his era. Yes, He's better than Kobe, Kobe has 3 rings that belong to the unstoppable force that Shaq was in his prime.)
