I want to thank our defense so much for the way they played Saturday night. You guys have come a long way this year and put us in an opportunity to win the SEC championship. The only problem was Erik Ainge and David Cutcliffe had to ruin our SEC championship hopes. I havent seen a quarterback play that badly since I was in elementary school. He consistently made bad decisions and even blew some assignments. What I cant understand is the fact that he consistently audibles out of plays and it seems to never work. It just seems that the bigger the game the more conservative our play calling gets and it got us beat Saturday night.

I for one will be glad if Coach Cut takes a head coaching job. He should have never been brought back to start with. Whats the old saying? "you never want to go backward in life" that applies to football as well. We are running a 1997 offense. Pathetic.
I know that the Colt's win with basically the same offense. But, we are not the Colt's.

My hat goes off to the defense they played their hearts out.

even better, that defense will return almost entirely next year...things look good at that side. Hats off to Chavis. Yes I just said that

I agree totally doesnt it piss you off that a couple of people had to ruin the game for everyone else. I mean our defense played their butt off and Cutcliffe was up in the press box getting high.

Well, i dont know about your last comment. but he had to be up there doing something. I thought that he might be up there removing his head from his a##.
But, obviously he wasen't.

Cutcliffe has cost us several games this year. I could tell you what were running even before we run it. He is so predictable, and win he gets a lead he seems to wanna give back the lead. When Berry made the interception I thought we were gonna pull it out, but Cutcliffe called some elementary plays to keep them in it. It seems like this coaching staff does just enough to keep their job, but cant take it to the next level.

I think the biggest question on all our minds is will Eric Berry switch to number 10 or not?

Ainge reminds me a lot of Cutcliffe's previous pet, Eli Manning. Too bad Ainge doesn't have the last name. That will hurt his draft status. Not many average quarterbacks are selected in the first round. It's sad that he was only one game away from elevating himself and he blew it. I said I hated him last night, and that was true, but it was just an emotional reaction. Now I am just disappointed. Given playmaking, experienced receivers, Ainge looks great.

Our offense NEEDS those players to work like it is designed. I miss Meachem. Given inexperienced freshmen and sophomores who drop key passes, especially on 4th down the last two weeks, Ainge looks below average. Cutcliffe looks like a genius when our receivers bust open his plays (see Meachem). He looks like a fool when we get a 3 yard completion about 15 times a game.

I absolutely loved the defense though. My opinion from watching LSU this year is that Flynn is not as good as Ainge. Perilloux has the potential and looks as if he is better than both of them. Our defense stopped LSU and hit so hard they injured several LSU players on clean hits. We gave up one offensive touchdown to a team that is most likely going to win the national championship. The defense has much to be proud of with their progress. Now, to beat the hell out of Wisconsin and not make a liar out of me. :)

Cutcliffe hasn't only cost us games this year, but he also cost us the Florida game in 2006. He tends to get conservative when it get tight. Crompton on the option?

I was very pleased with the defense against the Lousy Anner Tiggers. Our boys only allowed them one offensive Touchdown. Before Saturday, I thought the Arkansas game was our best defensive effort but the SECCG proved that our defense is really coming to the forefront.

I pity the slow, plodding offense that the Big 10's representive brings to the Outback Bowl.

I watched from the Ga Dome and haven't seen the replay yet (got home last night @ 1am). It really looked like our best hitting of the whole year. Our D has taken some abuse this year, and rightly so, but they looked ready to play on Sat night. Just disappointed because they played well enough for us to win. Great trip anyway

I agree 100%. Cutcliff plays to lose when he has a lead. Hes play calling in the SEC championship was completely horrendous. I think I could have been drunk, and called a better game. We havent thrown the ball enough to Gerald Jones and Kenny Oneal. We keep throwing it to Austin Rogers who is just awful. I know hes made a couple of big catches, but he missed more than hes caught. It was obvious to see that our receivers were not nearly the athletes that LSU's corners were. The fact is that we have become mediocre at best in the SEC and it also seems that Cutcliffe and Fulmer are fine with that.

The defense was OUTSTANDING in the second half. We were lucky to be leading at half time. This was due to a defensive philosophy that is severely flawed in the first half. Coach Chavis seems to love the bend but don't break style of defense. The only problem is that it breaks way too often.
I could not believe what I saw in the first half. Our defensive backs were 15 yards from the line allowing easy completions. LSU moved up and down the field in the first half but only managed 6 points. The second half was very impressive when our defense was allowed to play an aggressive in the face of the receivers style of defense. They took over the game and changed the momentum and gave us a chance to win. It was ashamed their efforts were not rewarded with a win!!!

Breaks way too often but only gave up 6 pts. Not sure how that works together.

It worked this time but failed big time in the Florida, and Alabama games. It almost cost us the game in the second half of the Kentucky game!
