Thank you Coach Kiffin for...

..coming to our great state with the passion and plan to restore our football program to greatness.

..being willing to have a lower salary so that you would be able to hire the best assistants.

..for not backing down or being intimidated by the current powers of the SEC.

..for the new recruiting culture that is taking place.

..for not being swayed by the masses when we were calling for Crompton's head..for sticking by your belief that he could perform!!

..for patching together a injured offensive line with arguably less talent but more heart.

..for gameplanning changes in regards to opponents...unpredictable playcalling..wringing production out of our lack of depth.

..for giving us a peek at what the future holds...we are on the rise!

We are 3-4 and yet I believe that this is the proudest I've been to be a Tennessee Volunteer fan! The heart and passion with which our team is playing has me truly believing that great things are coming. Thank you!

I agree 100% Especially with the salary part it took a real man to do that.. Just imagine if Hammy would have listened to Jimmy Hyams and hired Butch Davis with his 4 million salary and he cant even beat Virginia or the FSU Criminoles

I must say that at first I was skeptical with CLK. After the UF and Bama game he has made me a believer.
The future is bright for you guys and you will be a major force in the SEC.

-10000 Mouth has got you Nothing. And you lost to Auburn which lost to Kentucky.

Ah. The garbage English, followed by the transitive propery of football, which doesn't exist. If it did, your two losses to Vandy and scare last night would doom you to being worse than your history says you are.

The University of South Carolina began playing football in 1892. Since then, they have had an all-time winning percentage under .500, which ranks 92nd all-time in D-1A football...only 25 programs have been worse. A few of the notable football programs who have been better than the Gamecocks include such powerhouses as: Duke, Western Michigan, Tulsa, Toledo, Navy, UAB, Central Florida, Ball St., North Texas, Nevada, East Carolina, Houston, Northern Illinois, Utah St., San Jose St., Vanderbilt, Akron, Baylor, UNLV, Kansas, and Rutgers just to name a few. This is South Carolina Gamecock football.

Since the Associated Press began ranking football teams in 1936, the Gamecocks have finished in the top 20 of the rankings only five times. Carolina has never finished in the Top 10 of a major recognized poll. South Carolina won its first bowl game 103 years after they started playing football. In over 100 seasons of football, Carolina has yet to participate in one of the "Big 5" Bowls (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, Cotton). As Carolina is set to begin this season of collegiate football, they have won 10 or more games in a single season once. Since 1892, South Carolina has had only 42 winning seasons and 52 losing seasons. This is South Carolina Gamecock football.

I also was skeptical with clk but even at 3-4 am believing we could get back into top 10 team maybe even next season. If Bray is the real deal and the other big recruits pan out we could be a force. By outgaining them we showed improvement over last 2 seasons of beatdowns. Now win the games we should, that is the rest and a peach bowl or outback could happen.

Dear Vol Nation...

It was a great game. You were the dominant team in many ways except where it counts, on the scoreboard. The team should be proud but like your coach said, moral victories are really meaningless. But, what I don't understand is why you play well away and lose at home to two of the absolutely worst teams in America, UCLA and Auburn. Your young coach must insure that every game played is equally as important, not just Florida and Alabama. That may come with maturity.

Not a huge Davis fan myself, but the Davis angle was based on his recruiting for Miami back in the late 90's. He took a team coming off probation to having 10 or 15 future pro bowlers on his team within a season or 2. Much like we blame CPF for our current mess he recruited a team that went something like 32 and 3 in 3 seasons and won 1 NC and lost another by a pass interference call.
