Thank you Coach Dooley

I would have posted this in the American Airlines thread, but I think this would get more looks if I created another thread.

While I am not the biggest guy in class from coaches (part of it is I want my favorite program to win, part of it is a lot of them just aren't), I think volnation needs to know that Coach Dooley really seems like a great guy. My girlfriend actually sat across from him on her way back to college on a flight (he was going to the AFCA in Dallas). They made small talk and he was very cordial. Not only that, she asked for a picture and he gladly obliged. She said that he even asked her questions like where she went to school, what she majored in, etc. I must say that I was very surprised and impressed to hear this. We obviously don't know what kind of coach he'll be for the program, but I do appreciate the class he has especially after today. While wins usually do mean the most to people, I do appreciate that he is a good person & class act to Vol fans around the country.

Go Vols and go Coach Dooley!!! :hi:
:good!::clapping:

FWIW...not comparing Dooley with Spurrier on a coaching level...but it was about 96 or 97 and I was traveling back to Louisville KY from Philly and had to go through Cincy...as I was waiting for my flight, I look up just as Steve Spurrier sits dwon right across from me...of course he immediately looks right at my bright orange ball cap and says "How do you think your guys will do this year"...It blew me away...of course I answered, I think we'll give you a run for your money...we chatted for about the next 5 or 10 mins until the boarding call...while we I was walking away, he sticks out his hand and says "Good luck Vols, you guys are class all the way"...great story, class act, I see a lot of the same in Dooley!!!

That's a great story. :good!:

This guy has to be regretting ever posting this story

Nope. That's how we roll here, and zjc knows it.

If you can't stand to be picked on...go to the Birkenstock blog. The new line of knee-high wool socks are in.

Go Vols.
