I would have posted this in the American Airlines thread, but I think this would get more looks if I created another thread.

While I am not the biggest guy in class from coaches (part of it is I want my favorite program to win, part of it is a lot of them just aren't), I think volnation needs to know that Coach Dooley really seems like a great guy. My girlfriend actually sat across from him on her way back to college on a flight (he was going to the AFCA in Dallas). They made small talk and he was very cordial. Not only that, she asked for a picture and he gladly obliged. She said that he even asked her questions like where she went to school, what she majored in, etc. I must say that I was very surprised and impressed to hear this. We obviously don't know what kind of coach he'll be for the program, but I do appreciate the class he has especially after today. While wins usually do mean the most to people, I do appreciate that he is a good person & class act to Vol fans around the country.

Go Vols and go Coach Dooley!!! :hi:

This story would only have been worth reading if she joined the mile high club with him.

Gotta love volnation sometimes :).

In all seriousness though, I do say it's nice to have a coach that isn't a total prick like the last one.

You may not want to post the pic, but just how big was Dooley's smile when your gf sat in his lap?

Well...you could make the mile high case if Kiffie was still coaching here.

Its nice to know this about CDD. I can't imagine what CLK would have said if anything. Probably been too busy creating more secondary violation on his cell to talk to an average vol fan. Thanks for posting this story. Also shows he was on his way to Keep Clear and Tiny and touch base with who knows who. Maybe a new S&C coach.

FWIW...not comparing Dooley with Spurrier on a coaching level...but it was about 96 or 97 and I was traveling back to Louisville KY from Philly and had to go through Cincy...as I was waiting for my flight, I look up just as Steve Spurrier sits dwon right across from me...of course he immediately looks right at my bright orange ball cap and says "How do you think your guys will do this year"...It blew me away...of course I answered, I think we'll give you a run for your money...we chatted for about the next 5 or 10 mins until the boarding call...while we I was walking away, he sticks out his hand and says "Good luck Vols, you guys are class all the way"...great story, class act, I see a lot of the same in Dooley!!!

This thread has a very "Bill Brasky" (SNL skit) feel to it.
