It looks like your time here at UT will be coming to an end soon and I wanted to say thank you for your service here. You took a job that not many wanted and regardless of your win loss record, you will leave this football team in a much better place than when you arrived! I wish the best for you and your family and wherever you end up coaching after this. A lot of "fans" will only remember and point to the negative things that you did here, but I for one will remember the positive things you did for this university. You gave your all for Tennessee and for that I say Thank you!

Hope we can make the right hire next and not just the flashiest one. GO VOLS!!

I don't fault Dooley for trying, but I'm not certain what you're thanking him for. That he kept our program at the bottom of the SEC? Don't start with the 'he increased talent' line. Fact is Tennessee sells itself to a certain extent and any coach could likely have restocked the cupboard.

Stability? Certainly not in the coaching department.

Derek Dooley will be remembered for exactly what he is -- a good assistant coach who was elevated beyond his ability simply because of his lineage.

Sorry, the truth is the truth.

Are you that guy that hates on Fulmer and loves Dooley. Thank you for wasting the last 3 years of my vol fandom Dooley...I guess. You know I would feel bad for him, if he was not rich. I feel bad for the seniors like Wagner. I almost had a tear in my eye when he said we just got to play four quarters.

what are you guys going to do next year when Dooley is still the coach?

Dude I think that has been decided, he is done. Hottest seat in the nation, hotter than Chizik in my mind. That guy won a NC, yeah it was because of Cam.

We don't even know if he's going to be let go yet. Calm down. But I will say going from a WAC school with no pressure to do much to a weak SEC east team with little talent and an impatient fan base is way too big of a jump for him.

Dooley will never be forgotten at UT. He holds more negative records than any other coach in UT history. His history-breaking records went back to 1910-1911 at the start of the season, but he has managed to best that this year and go back to 1893 with his record-shattering poor performance. His teams will live in infamy.

He might be considered one of the worst coaches in history if you look at the numbers. Yet, still a multi-millionaire. God bless America.

Thanks for losing every game that mattered and making sure we were embarassed on national television every chance we got.

I'm beginning to wonder if it is physically impossible for Dooley to win in the SEC. I mean, maybe that OT victory against Vandy was a fluke.

Yes...thank you Coach Dooley.

Now excuse me while I go back to drinking myself into oblivion.

With the buyout it will have been closer to $11 million. For this. Where we are today. Losing to major rivals by 30+ points in Neyland. Giving up over 40 points per game in the SEC. Three years after his hiring. With 3 years of his recruiting classes. No year zero. No bamboo shoots growing up. No Rommel sightings. Perfect showering discipline however.

I am so sick of the uneducated people saying we should give Dooley another year. The guy is not major college football material! I don't care if we have to cut out volleyball, baseball, and softball. Hire Gruden!
