For bringing basketball to the forefront of a lot of Tennessee fan's minds, especially when the football team was failing. Now your time is over. Let's get us a new coach and put on more steam. Go Vols.

It's been fun Pearl...Unfortunately a Tiger never looses its stripes. Maybe if you get a 3rd chance to be a D1 coach you'll play a little cleaner role.

This is a little out of context. Pearl didnt pay any players, he lied to the NCAA about a barbacue at his house (which is just a minor violation). The issue is that he lied to the NCAA. If he didnt this would not/will not be happening.

If you only new how many other coaches in the country do more than have a minor barbacue on the property of his own.

I would imagine there are many people who will agree with my sentiment. Since Pearl has arrived TN has gone to 6 straight tournaments. When did we last see the excitement surrounding this program that we have witnessed during this man's tenure? How many times did TB arena sell out? Do we really want to go back to the Buzz, Kevin, Don eras in which we never had anything to be excited about.

We have a coach who is charismatic, full of energy and most of all loved by the fanbase, his players and the parents of the players. Pearl is one of the few coaches I have ever seen to interact with the fans the way he does.

With all that TN has been through in all sports of late I think Hamilton would be a much easier loss than that of Bruce Pearl. Especially after his not so timely statement about Pearl last week. So what if Pearl is suspended for a year. The program will have a better chance under him than anyone that replaces that man. I understand he made a terrible mistake. Pressure can do that to any man. Tressel, Calhoun, the list goes on and on. What about all the programs who do not get caught? I doubt we would ever have to worry about anything like this happen again, unlike Kiffin's multiple allegations.

Coach Pearl, if you happen to read this......Thank you for everything you have done for the University I love. You have made great strides in making basketball exciting again in TN. By the way, Coach Fulmer would be an excellent replacement for Hamilton. It just seems to me the University has been out of control since Hamilton's arrival.

Any thoughts?

Farewell. I'll fondly remember these years. I cared about the Lofton/Smith senior team as much as I did about any football team we've had. That's saying a lot since Tennessee hoops has always been second fiddle to me.

When Bruce Pearl arrived basketball was the red headed step-child of sports at UT for the boosters, administration and fans.

Six years later basketball is relevant again not only locally but on a national level. Just the vast amount of tv, newspaper, pundit and message board chatter proves that.

Thank you Mr. Pearl for making basketball something to be talked about. Best wishes in your future endeavors.

Those teams will never be rivaled IMO.

I enjoyed watching the run to the Elite 8 as much as I have any SEC championship football season.

Pearl came my Junior year at Tennessee and some of my best college memories are because of him.

Wish it wasn't having to end like this.

THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES BRUCE!

The win at Memphis to be #1, those early wins against those Florida teams, beating Kansas last year shorthanded, stunning Ohio State in the tourney.........this is a sad day regardless if you wanted him out or not. The great thing about Pearl was how he embraced the history of UT basketball. The orange jacket for Vandy and KY, the jersey retirement of Houston, King, and Grunfeld... to be honest I learned more about this history of Tennessee basketball in these years under Pearl than I had ever in my lifetime. Despite his flaws it always seemed that Pearl embraced Tennessee and the fans. Even with his success, he never acted like this was a program that he built.

Thank you Sir.... Go Bruce.... and Go Vols

Thank you for 6 great years. You were a great spokesman for this university and brought a lot of positive attention to this university and the basketball program. You also brought excitement and a winning tradition back to the basketball program. Hopefully you can move on from this situation and find another coaching job and resurrect your career.
Thanks for the memories Coach Pearl!
