When you consider that we havent beaten a team from the SEC west since the era before Butch ( champs of life) Jones, things could be a lot worse. The fact that we play in East ( and least ) part of the SEC , means that we can hope to get back in the SEC Champ. game in about 20 to 30 years. If we had to play Bama, Auburn, LSU, A &M, etc every year- we might go 8-9 years before we won a single game from those powerhouses. Since, we play Vandy and Ky every year , we have a 50-50 chance of winning at least 2 SEC games a year. Other quality teams have hit dry spells ( ie, Texas hasnt had a winning record since Mack Brown left ) but I dont remember a quality SEC team being as pathetic as we have been since Fulmer was fired . Last years pathetic showing seems to have spilled over into this season. I honestly think that we will be lucky to win 2 conference games this year: Vandy and ky. MAYBE . wHO in the era of Manning and Tee Martin would have believed Vol FB could be as inept as now?
