The Fulmer curse is over , Phillip Fulmer is a VFL that brought us great fame and is dearly loved , but that era is now dead. So if you’re complaining then text your buddy because you can be part of next great era at Tennessee. You have to move on at some point and accept where we are and build from here. WELCOME OUR NEW COACH, STAFF AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TO ROCKY TOP. GO VOLS!

I'm really not sure at this point what there would be to complain about. Sure we didn't get Kiffin or Freeze, but I think we knew that wasn't going to happen anyways. Heupel is still young, but has 3 years of Head Coaching experience behind him. Very good record, and has coached up a lot of NFL prospects. Only question I have, what was his score on the recruiting assessment test (NCAA Division I Coaches Certification Test)?

My sentiments are the same. Hate it for any single coach still here, but I hope they 100% clean out the losing stench from that last era. It feels like we have a clean restart.
I know we need a 🚛 load of cheese with our WHINE around here lately. But, Fulmer did move out quick like he originally said when he took the job. UT moved THIS year and fired Pruitt when it looked like we we're headed for a 12 mos disaster. May save the buyout too, sans lawsuit. Admins landed a Home Run AD quickly! New AD got about as good as a bottom feeder program under NCAA sanctions could expect. He may fail, but has tons of upside IMO.
Clean Slate Folks. UT actually really did clean house. Feels like a totally new era.

Fulmer only moved on because he was forced to...don’t be naive

I will have the same mantra I had with the last four coaches. I will support and back the man unless and until he gives me a reason not to. Hopefully this one will finally prove worthy of the mantle of the General. Good luck Coach! Get to work and Godspeed.

Bob Stoops canned him at Ok due to the stagnant O. Two stops as a coordinator then the UCF job. I’m underwhelmed. Fired in 4 years
Hope it's sooner than 4 years. Would rather it be 2.5.

He stated clearly that he was short term when he took the job. Do you have a verifiable fact that says he was forced out?

Yes, UT has agreed to pay him 450,000 a year for the next 3 years to not be AD. Also he took a 3 year extension last spring. If you read his AD contract, it says if Fuller terminates the contract (which he claims he did) then he will no longer receive a salary, benefit it's, or other compensation.
The amount he is receiving lines up with what the contact says he will be paid if the university terminates the contact without cause.

Think what you want. Look at the crap show he left.

I try to keep my thinking in line w facts over fantasies and forum tripe, thus the question about verifiable facts. Just bc people get pi$$ed does not validate fiction as the new facts. I think I'm glad Phil moved on one way or another and we have a clean slate honestly.

Yes Bob fired him and Norvell after a 40-6 loss to Clemson. He needed to make a change and opted not to fire the defensive coordinator who just happened to be his brother.
Like past hires, I’ll support our new coach but it’s going to take some success on the field (not the press conference) to get me fully invested again. Give him a chance until he proves otherwise

Not sure what to get over. But, as I asked earlier, do you have a verifiable fact @ your statement? Outside of VolTwitter and forum feelings at least.

Do you have any verifiable evidence he wasn't fired? Fulmer was allowed to save face and nothing more, your idol worship is noble but you need to face the fact that he was fired.... in disgrace..... AGAIN.

Think they have ANY damn ammo?

I guarantee they do.

$49 for a box of 20 9mm though.

Check Federal Premium (online) every day. They usually have some in stock at least 1 day per week. Not “normal” prices.....but not outrageous either. Picked up 8 boxes last week for $22 per.

OKLAHOMA
2011 – 512.3 yards per game, No. 5 in total offense (349.4 passing yards, 162.9 rushing yards, 39.5 points per game)
2012 – 497.8 yards per game, No. 12 in total offense (336.5 passing yards, 161.4 rushing yards, 38.2 points per game)
2013 – 423 yards per game, No. 53 in total offense (199.1 passing yards, 223.9 rushing yards, 32.8 points per game)
2014 – 464.7 yards per game, No. 24 in total offense (203.5 passing yards, 261.2 rushing yards, 36.2 points per game)

Even with these numbers, Heupel was fired as offensive coordinator. It’s important to note, that Mike Stoops, brother of head coach Bob Stoops, served as the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma. The team’s 382.3 yards per game allowed ranked 54th in the country, plus the Sooners gave up an average of 38.8 points per game in its five losses in 2014. Alas, Heupel, not Stoops, was replaced by now Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley. The rest is history for the Sooners.

Notice similar success based on pass-heavy and run-heavy offenses - wow, a coach that actually does adjust based on personnel.

If that qualifies as stagnant, I'll take it. The legion of the miserable on this website are just infantile.

Most of our complaints are a direct result of the last 4 “next great eras” of UT football. We don’t need sales pitches. Bring results and the positivity will manifest itself
