I can't say I've read every post in this thread but here are a few reactions:
1. Most Aggies are delighted to be in the SEC. If anybody who says they are Aggies tells you otherwise, they are probably from tu.
2. Tennessee has always been the "real UT", because Aggies refer to the school for those maggot-infested hippies in Austin as "tu".
3. A&M's school colors were originally red. But in the early 1900's a supplier screwed up the uniform order and A&M received jerseys in maroon. Since a lot of schools used red the powers that be decided to stick with maroon. And that is perfectly A&M -- a mistake leads to a tradition.
4. Speaking of tradition, if anything happens at A&M more than once, it is labeled a tradition. And if it is a tradition it is vehemently defended. Take the yell leaders -- that tradition started when a bunch of freshman dressed up in the white coverals and started directing the crowd. (Women were not admitted at the time). The collective thought that was great and kept it up. Now it is a tradition, and if any suggests something new such as cheerleaders, they are likely to get skewered with a saber.
5. Every Texas schoolboy and schoolgirl knows the story of the Alamo and of the brave Tennessee volunteers who fought and died there. And every Texan knows of Davy Crockett's famous quote after he lost his reelection, "you may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas." But few know that another group of volunteers fought and died during the Texas Revolution. Actually, they were murdered under orders from Santa Anna following the Battle of Coleto Creek, near the town of Goliad. These volunteers were the Red Rovers, (who were from Alabama).
6. And finally, A&M's most cherished tradition is Muster, which is always held on April 21st, San Jacinto Day, in celebration of the great victory by another Tennesee volunteer, General Sam Houston. (

I for one thank you all for your great welcome and I look forward to taking in a game some day. You may run into an occassional Aggie jackhole every now and then, but I can almost guarantee that the A&M jackhole percentage is a lot lower than your other opponents. And when you do spot that jackhole, look around for other Aggies as they are much more likely to solve the jackhole problem for you than they are to join in with the jh.
