I can't imagine the SEC announcing that just A&M will be joining the conference with a second team to be named later. Surely they'll get the whole thing worked out with all schools who will be joining before they announce any additions.

Here's a couple of nuggets I picked up on the Aggie Scout board. KSU has agreed to be the SECOND LHN game(Rice is the other). This is a breach of the agreement with the Big 12 members. Also, ESPN wants to show Texas HS football highlights, which would go against the last NCAA ruling.

Just to be clear...in order for KSU fans to watch the game on TV they will have to have LHN. Some of their fans think they'll be able to watch it on the KSU digital network. Let's see how that works out.

The feeling on the aggie boards, for a while, has been that The SEC would be prepared to go 2012 with thirteen teams. Their mods have said that since this started. fwiw

No, they're all playing second fiddle financially. The reason the rest of them are sticking it out is because for KU, K State, Baylor, Okie Lite and TTU, being Texas' b!tch in a big time conference is preferable to the likely alternative of having to join C-USA or MWC or whatever.

I believe it. The SEC badly wants A&M and as soon as everything is settled, they will receive an invite immediately.

Word on the Aggie Scout board is 9 million dollar exit fee...close to what Nebraska paid and nowhere near the 30 million espn and others are reporting. fwiw

I think Nebraska was 8 Mil...Well, they restructured the ESPN and Fox contracts when the league went to ten teams. Some folks think/thought, that they would have to pay a penalty involving the networks having to restructure a new contract if the Big 12 only has 9 teams. I think Fox could actually pull out if they don't have 10 teams.

I might not be spot on here, but I think I'm in the ball park.

Last time I checked, the SEC doesn’t require schools to physically move when they join the conference. There are no plans for Texas A&M to relocate to Mississippi, Alabama or Georgia in order to join the SEC. You won’t be driving down the highway and see half a building on a semi trailer. Nope, Texas A&M will be staying in College Station.

Big 12 schools reserve 3,850 tickets for visiting conference members and another 150 for the conference. In the SEC, schools reserve 7,000 tickets for visiting fans.

I thought the SEC did an allotment for visiting teams based on a percentage of the stadium? Florida gets the same amount of tickets for a trip to Vandy as it does to Tennessee?

Her overall point is that the Baylor study on the economic impact of A&M leaving the Big 12 seems far fetched, and she did admit that she's not an economist. GBO!

I still tend to think the bxii may just stay in tact; it's still more beneficial for ttu, baylor, kansas and k state to ride tu's coattails than chance it on their own, even if they get a raw deal, plus there is always houston and a couple other programs that could get snatched up.

Big 12 could look to make schools legally binded together

They're clearly terrified of an A&M departure.

Texas shouldn't have been able to sh!t on everyone for so long. If the Big XII hadn't have allowed it, there would be no danger of a collapse.

The Big XII has nobody to blame but themselves and Texas for this mess, and these silly, pathetic grasps at trying to save what will undoubtedly become a cruddy (if existent) conference make for excellent comedy.

Breaking up with Big12-2 within the next two days. Announcement with SEC possibly as early as Friday.
