Texas A&M game: who's going?

Thinking about going to this game. Anyone know what else there is to do in that area of Texas? Any nice resorts around to make a week long trip out of it? How are the beaches in Texas?

Tx has some nice beaches, Galveston or Padre Island can be fun, but they are having a problem with flesh eating bacteria down there right now. Really bad stuff, not sure if that will still be a problem this fall.

The TX hill country is a lot of fun, just west of Austin. Can't go wrong there, the wife and I love that area and we hate when we have to leave.

You might check out the Hyatt Lost Pines. It's probably 1 1/2 hours from College Station. Lots of nice resorts around San Antonio and Austin. Probably Houston and Dallas too but I'm not as familiar with those areas.

The best beaches are a ways from there. South Padre Island is best. Corpus Christi area is ok. I'd stay away from the Galveston area due to dirty water.

We're staying in Galveston.

Thanks! I'll look into all of this further.

Thanks brother. We switched hotel bc we were seeing more and more reviews which did not add up to such a high price.

Im just wondering about the tailgating now. I know its a early game but new stadium so we have to tailgate.

Where did u get a room? I found a couple of other places but they seem what I remember maybe 10 miles away or so, so we have not cancelled the Manor Inn. College Station is a little town and I think there are some more ops in Bryan, but further away. I asked a lady the other day about it that lives in Bryan and she said they have taxi service but might be a little difficult to get one.

The lady said there is a lot of hotel construction going on and I plan on seeing if one is under construction and not open yet, hence some vacancies. I googles but not found a good way to find if there is one yet.

And for anyone looking for panhandle type beaches around here you have to go south to at least Corpus Cristi. That is 3-4 hours south of Houston. The coast areas around here are heavily industrialized with refineries so big your jaw will drop. Everything is bigger down here. Hell the Texas Medical Center here has over 100,000 employees with 20,000 physicians, researchers, etc

I know a few other's had been asking, so I contacted the Aggie's Ticket Office.

The Tennessee Sections are as follows,
Sections 409-412, Row 26 and Higher.
Sections 418-421, Row 26 and Higher.
Section 350, Row 28 and Higher.
The entirety of sections 130 and 131.

I also asked if there was a date that they would start selling individual game tickets, and she said they are still selling season tickets, and couldn't give me a solid date on when individuals would go on sale.

I just grabbed a ticket in 421, Row 23. I figure that's close enough to hear a friendly roar, hopefully often.

Just today was able to set a business meeting in San Antonio for Thursday the 6th...

Booked hotel in Bastrop...

Will be on a hunt for best single ticket I can get my hands on...

My A&M buddy just confirmed my ticket for the game. I can update on the tailgate scene as the game gets closer, but as usual anyone is welcome to come tailgate. Now I need to book my room and flight, any suggestions are greatly appreciated and will be rewarded at the tailgate!

I will definitely hit you up for the tailgate info as I'm looking for one and don't wanna do a whole setup for just me and my wife. We are flying Southwest from Nashville to Houston, and renting a car and driving into College Station.
Staying at Baymont Inn & Suites Bryan College Station

Just bought our tix. Sitting in 420. Staying in Houston. Is the big orange tailgate worth registering for? Like others, my wife and I are hoping to tailgate some before the game, but we obviously won't have the means to set something up ourselves.

Any info on the tailgate now that we're getting close? Thanks!

I'll be at the game. Getting tickets from a A&M Players mom that I work with. Should be a great game
