I never said I want Terry Bowden at UTK, I just don't think he was a bad coach. Probably he was in the same leauge as Fulmer, but not up there with Meyer, Spurrier, Tuberville, Saban, and Richt.

easy now, what makes Richt such a great coach? just wondering if I'm missing something

2 sec titles, 3 east titles, 2 bcs bowls, currently ranked in the top 10 of the BCS.

but that 1-3 thing against CPF and TN in the last 4 is a stinger!!!!!:)

There you go again mixing facts into the discussion. Stop it.

eh.....i'm less and less enamoured with Richt as time goes along, but he's steady, consistent and minus a fewe mishaps here and there, his teams generally play solid, mistake free football.

i think the biggest thing surprising me right now is the apparent lack of development of some of their skill position players (WR specifically) and defense. they're young, granted. i'll be surprised if they aren't much better next year.

agreed. i don't think anyone would hang their coaching hat on this year's performance.

Gibson never got better there and Massaquoi has gotten considerably worse every year. I wonder why that is?

I really thought Massaquoi would be a legit NFL prospect now and he sucks.

Sean Bailey getting hurt his WR corp but really they have sucked in the WR department. I'll stop thinking out loud now

no offense but Fulmer has that
Yeah but Fulmer's came 10 years ago, at least so far as the SEC c-ships go, which is why Fulmer would've been fired by now if he had to live up to Auburn standards. Richt still ahs the overall 4-3 against Phil, BUT if you guys really want to limit our basis for judging coaches to the past four years then I am all for it.

First exhibit, in the past four years Phil is 30-16 (a 65% winning percentage) with 1 bowl win and a loss in his only SECCG appearance in that span. Of course he did go 3-1 vs UGA so I guess all is well.

he was great his fr year, and being in CLT, i used to see highlight footage of him all the time while at Independence...sky was the limit for that kid so i thought.....and Gibson immediately came to mind. he was very inconsistent and lived solely on the highlight reel. he had as many drops as he did great catches.

terry bowden is getting entirely too much board time these days. everytime i think of him, i think of that cartoon with the two dogs, the one big bull dog, and the little one tagging along squelching "which way did he go George? which way did he go?".

i'll let you decide which one he reminds me of. the guy is a pud.

Jake, it's been....(thinking)...at least ten years since I heard someone use the term "pud".

Thanks for bringing it back with class. That arrow hit the mark.

Well spoken.

go vols.

Terry is promoting himself big time to try to get back into coaching. He says nothing bad about anybody who might have a spot opening up in the near term. Comprehende?

That makes a lot of sense; since Nutt is on a hotter seat than Phil right now. That could change in the next three weeks.
