Did anyone else hear the rant about his dislike of the decision to go with Bray over Simms? He was really calling Dooley's judgement into question during the comments. Said he would not have made the change. Thats all fine and dandy, but he forgot the small detail that Bray has more TALENT than Simms. Yes Simms led the Vols thru the brutal part of the season, but he failed to improve and made the same mistakes over and over. The bottom line is Bray has more talent and can make the throws Simms cant. Kudos to Dooley and Bray is showing why he should have been in there long before the last couple weeks.

Yeah, I thought that was weird. You have to remember that Simms's dad is the lead color analyst for CBS NFL. The guy may have been taking up for his friend's son. Not exactly professional.

I thought it was very disrespectful to Tyler

These are the same guys that said "Tennessee has returned 2 TD's for interceptions"

These two announcers were not prepared and made mistake after mistake on player names and what was happening on the field. That comes from a lack of research and preparation which is the very definition of a non-professional.

I don't think you were listening too well.

What are you talking about? He said, plain as day, that he would not have made the change. He stated that Simms played in the games against oregon, florida, bama, LSU, SC, and so forth. And then said "I dont agree". What did I not hear??

Simms has sucked period. Even the games he has played ok in, he has missed on several throws that could have led to scores or big gains. Personally, I'm fine with Simms being the crash test dummy until Bray was ready to go. Again tho, botom line is Bray is vastly more talented as should be the starter. Whether he would have struggled or not, he can clearly do things that Simms cant.

Question for you is what were you listening to??

Did ya'll also hear him say that Ole Miss was playing like a bunch of idiots? His name was Steve Beuerlein. He also made another remark along the lines of that. I couldn't believe they allowed him to talk like that on national TV. It didn't offend me, but I was rather surprised that he did that.

I thought it Guden at first, then thought exactly what you said.

That's exactly what I figured as well... He went on a rant once which was enough, but then he did it again! ...Has the guy seen Bray play?! ...made me question whether the guy had his eyes closed the entire game!

Also, did your hear the commentators yell something to the likes of "JUMPPPP ONNN ITTTT... JUMPPP ON IT" when the Ole Miss back-up QB was going after the fumble?!

If anyone is still debating whether or not Simms should start, then they should have their head examined

maybe we will get mike leach again

Ohh God no. That dude was a train wreck in the booth. By far the worst announcer to ever call a game.

Someone else on here said it, but these guys need to do some research on the teams they call games for. Watch some film or something, damn. I know UT is bad this year, but they could get some competent people to call the games.

Simm's is a serviceable QB but his limitations are in his instincts and his head. He does not feel pressure, overreacts when pressure comes, has limited pocket presence, repeatedly makes bad throws in critical situations(three or more int. in the red zone) and then doesn't realize what his short comings are. You can't fix it if you don't realize it is a problem. Combine all of the above with toughness, a decent arm and well above average receivers and you can produce stats but not wins. Bray is the answer.

Your comments and disrespect to Simms is wrong.

I thought it was kind of funny. The whole game I was trying to figure out why Bueurlein hated Bray so much. He was ragging on everything he did even as he watched a true freshman QB throw for 250+ yards and 3 TDs in the first half of his first ever SEC start. When Bray completed that throw to Rivera and he started screaming about how he just threw it up for grabs I couldn't believe it. He caught the DB with his back turned and under-threw Rivera so he could make a play and took flak for it from the commentator.

Then he went on that little rant about how he shouldn't be starting over Simms and I just laughed. Had he seen the score? Was he watching the same 2 QBs that we've watched all season? Either he really like Simms b/c he was friends with Phil or Bray slept with his daughter. More research is needed.

Bray is far from perfect but he's played as well as we could possibly want considering he's a true freshman.

Any network that retains the Verne Lundquist-Gary Danielson team for as long as they have is clearly garbage.
