This is his quote from the Scout board:

I am NOT an insider, confidant, heavy hitter, or privy to Mr. Hart's thoughts.
First, I am a proud U of Tennessee alumn and have never or will never pull against The University of Tennessee in anything, any sport, regardless. My opinion is irrelevant regarding the coaching situation at The University of Tennessee. However, I am blessed with friends in influential positions and this is what I have heard:

1. The U of Tennessee administration strongly backs Coach Dooley.
2. Anyone who believes any of these Gruden rumors is in dream land.
3. The "main" money man still backs Coach Dooley.
4. A close friend had breakfast with Dr. Sexton, Jimmy's father, this morning and he said Dr. Sexton said "no negative decison regarding Coach Dooley's position has been expressed or made by the athlectic director, Hart."

Pulling for the vols this weekend, but if they are destined to lose it needs to happen already so everybody can get on board, if that is what it takes.

This went from a slow decline in credibility to a fast 90 degree drop off

I, too, am a UT alum and also have no inside knowledge, but I have a gut feeling that there is a lot of truth in what KnoxKid says. Unless the University is willing to lay out the bucks for a legitimate coaching change, we may as well keep Dooley. The school will be in marginal turmoil with Dooley and drastic turmoil without Dooley.

My thoughts are, if not Gruden, then Dooley for at least another year. I can't think of another coach that would bring as much excitement, prestige, and the all-around hype that you need to get the best of the best players.

I would literally crap my pants if we got Gruden, but if it's not him, then Dooley deserves another year. I don't want to replace Dooley just to replace him. That would be program suicide, IMO.

2. Anyone who believes any of these Gruden rumors is in dream land, because we want to look like heroes when we announce it and don't appreciate leaks under-cutting our glory.
3. The "main" money man still backs Coach Dooley, because he still owes him his buyout.
4. A close friend had breakfast with Dr. Sexton, Jimmy's father, this morning and he said Dr. Sexton said "no negative decison regarding Coach Dooley's position has been expressed or made by the athlectic director, Hart to the media outlets."

My corrections in red.

This is nothing more than trying to squelch rumors. Those four statements mean nothing. Well actually, if Hart hasn't decided to fire DD yet, we should fire him.

However, I'm still skeptical. Why? I've not seen enough data on Hart yet to know one way or the other.

Lets just put it this way... Not a damn person knows what is going on regarding coaching changes other than Dave Hart, and only Dave Hart. Period. All this back and forth is retarded. Nobody knows anything, because I'm sure Dave Hart isn't spewing info from the mouth about the future of our head coaching position halfway through the season.

Lol, Dave Hart will do whatever Jim Haslem tells him to do. You people that think Dave Hart will make this decision crack me up.

This is pretty much my feeling. If you can hit a homerun, go for it. But we can't afford anymore chances on an up and comer.

at this point, with the exception of winning out and a bowl win, I dont see any logic in keeping DD. That stadium going to be embarrassing for the Troy game, and possibly the UK game.
Apathy is almost just as bad as loosing think he has gotta make a change.
