Terror, I think that is what teams face when they walk into the teeth of Tennessee's defense. If they don't feel it at first, it doesn't take long to figure out, "Hey, what do we do against this defense we've never seen before?" Tennessee has 10 SEC games left on their schedule and they stand at 5-3. Only 2 of those games are against teams that have ever faced the Tennessee Terror Defense and I'm not sure it helps a whole lot to have faced it once like Mississippi State and South Carolina, both games which we won on the road. I think any combination of 20 wins gets us in the Big Dance. If we go 7-3 regular season, 6-4 and 1 tourney win, 5-5 and 2 tourney wins, we're in. If we beat Kentucky, we're in. In closing, don't underestimate the Tennessee Terror Defense. It's that good. :superman: PS If we fail to make the NCAA tournament, in spite of what some say, it would be a blast to watch this team and its Tennessee Terror Defense compete in the National Invitational Tournament.

This may be selfish of me to say of this team, especially since they are overachieving.....

But I wish they were sitting at 15 wins right now....

Still confused about the complete meltdown against Alabama in the second half (although I know it was an anomaly)

But if someone guaranteed me they would be sitting here with 13 wins at this juncture, I wouldn't have bet on it, that's for sure.

Job well done for the team and coach Tyndall (who at this stage should be SEC coach of the year)

Can they get in with 18 or 19 wins?

Since the conference as a whole is weak?

20 is really a stetch in my opinion.

They HAVE to beat MS St. this Tuesday (that's a must win).

Winning at Georgia will be a tall task and winning at Vandie is nearly impossible when Vandie attempts between 30-40 free throw attempts at every home game...

Actually I think it speaks to the job Tyndall has done that we can actually say we're a bit disappointed we're at 13-7.

Watching a game last night where they were talking about the SEC.
Said just the opposite and that there's a possibility the SEC could get 6 bids this season and a 7th as a play in.
Lunardi even says if SS was today they'd have 6 in.

Think most people saying the SEC is super down had more to do with how much better Kentucky is than everyone else. I think the 2nd tier SEC teams are capable of making noise in the dance.

Oh no. Not the "Must Win" games already. Of course if we don't win the next "Must Win" game, then that means that we'll have even more "Must Win" games ahead.

Hate to be that guy but Cal right now imo until he loses. If he goes undefeated then no way anyone else should get it. Maybe if we lose a couple, and if UT is still 2nd with a good record then CDT should win it.

I don't think of the SEC this year as a weak conference. I've seen more competition, top to bottom, this year than in many years past. It's tough out there Bubba.
I actually believe we can get to twenty wins. Tough...yes, but doable. See ya in the NCAAT.:yes:

GO VOLS!

The defense is going to be there most every game. The key to winning is making shots and a high % of free throws. With our defense, if we get hot shooting we will win most games. A high % of shots mean we don't need a lot of offensive rebounds which is a weakness against teams with good bigs.

Sorry to say it but I don't think Ky will blink an eye at our defense. We may see our second beatdown of the season and a second 30 point game against their defense.

I am not convinced that 20 wins does it for sure. We better not have any bad losses against the bottom 3 or 4 in the SEC. Of course, (very unlikely) a win against UK would make 20 wins enough.

If jarnell had stayed this year (instead of going to the D-league and getting into fights) we would be AT LEAST 2 games better than now. Would've beaten marquette. probably at arkansas. maybe even bama too.

just the same ole wishful thinking that all vol fans do

Vandy played them close. KY never beats a team too bad but a 15 point loss would not suprise me. I hope we compete as best we can though. Only 17 days till KY.

What amazes me is how the media continually blasts how invincible UK is, yet they have come within a basket of losing two consecutive games. Ole Miss took them into OT at Rupp and the next game it took two OT's for them to win at College Station. But all it takes is to say they are a team of supermen and the fandom laps it all up. I'm not saying we'll beat Kentucky. We certainly won't be favored. But if this team puts it all together for one game, it is not beyond the realm of possibility.
