tennessee is not the only sec team that is struggling or falling under expectations. preseason powers auburn, arkansas, georgia, and alabama are not looking good. its not unrealistic to say that the vols could finish as the 3rd or 4th best team in the sec and make a good bowl game. so i did some research. if we finish 3rd or 4th, we could play the cotton bowl, chick-fil-a bowl, or the outback bowl again. if we play the cotton bowl, the 2 likely teams we will play against are TEXAS:ermm: and MISSOURI:eek:hmy:. if we play the chick-fil-a bowl, the 2 likely teams are CLEMSON:no: and BOSTON COLLEGE:yes:. if we play the outback bowl, the 2 likely teams are OHIO STATE:unsure: and PENN STATE:no:. what do you guys think about bowl games?

I think that bowl games are limited to teams with winning records, and that won't include UT. You're dreaming. Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and South Carolina are going to thump UT. Vanderbilt may give us a good run as well.

UT will be lucky to make a bowl---if they do, it will be some minor bowl like the Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport or that bowl in Idaho where it's snowing all the time.

the Snow BAWL!... we're more likely to go to the sportsmanship bowl in Alamo Heights, Texas

We have NO shot at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. None. We'll be lucky to be bowl eligible.

technically running the table will get us that or better, hence the reason for my post. While i agree we'll be lucky to make a bowl, fulmer would stay if he somehow got to celebrate new year's in the atl.

I understand that Vegas has placed the odds of UT running the table at 50,000 to 1. I think I'll save my money.

Arkansas has the best running back in the country, and still is a good team.

Georgia beat Alabama Saturday night, after losing to a good SC team.

Alabama has only lost one game, to a decent Georgia team.

Auburn is the only team on that list that is under performing. Combine that with Kentucky being very good this year, we need to have a tremendous improvement to be able to be 3rd or 4th in the SEC.

Not sure I agree, though I understand the reasoning.

it will be the stretching point. I'm not sure which way Hamilton would go on that one, but i think he'd give him the last year. Cotton, Outback or somehow the Cap One would definitely keep Fulmer his job IMO.

Things are very odd right now. Plus, I don't think it is as much MH's decision as onlookers believe. The W/L column may only be a factor, not a tipping point.

I'd just better wait and watch some more. Like I said, things are just odd right now...

I can understand that. I ultimately feel that it comes down to what the Haslams and etc want more than anything, but either way the decision comes down to hamilton having to make it. Guess we'll see.
