Tennessee's 1 Chance for a National Title under Butch Jones is 2016.

I haven't read all 9 pages, so SIAP, but even though high profile skill positions are turning over and many of the most recognizable names wil be gone... TN will be stronger and deeper in the OL and the DL than they have been in years. Those are more important positions... just not as shiny as RBs and WRs.

Even though there will likely be a slight dip from 16 to 17, every year for the foreseeable future is a potential championship year. This thread is dumb, which unfortunately is par for the course with the OP.

Butch could also fill needs resulting from a smaller 2016 class by adding JUCOs in out years at positions lacking personnel. Remain calm, OP.

I'd put anyone (outside of Alabama) in the SEC chances of a national title as extremely slim until Nick Saban retires

I agree its his best shot, but you can never be certain what will happen in years to come especially with other programs.hopefully FL,GA,Bama goes through the stuff we went through after fulmer left

So you disagree? Odd claiming that this year will be a good shot at a national championship is negative in your eyes.

It's not the claim that next year is a great shot. It's the addendum that it will be his last good chance. You and 105 can't see past next year with any sort off positive outlook. Hell 105 can't even be really optimistic about next season without calling it the beginning of the end. I'll throw Eddie VH into your group as well. The triumvirate of eeyores.

Just be happy and enjoy the ride suckas!

Tennessee's best chance for a magical run is 2016. It will take improvement from the coaches and players to even get close to being in the discussion.

Don't see any reason it has to be the one and only chance, however.

Calm down, Op....

Truer words. This year is the time to get Bama. New qb, several guys to NFL....probably won't miss a beat though

It's really all on Dobbs, if he can improve is accuracy and consistency we will win the natty.

Every Vol fan considered Peyton Manning's senior year the year the Vols would win the NC, but it was the following year with a new QB......go figure
