Almost uniformly, I cannot stand rants on this board that invoke jingoistic war/military comparisons, but despite that--the bolded above is absolutely true and in need of being repeated.
Show pride in your Vols, regardless the outcome. Brighter days are ahead.
Hopefully.
I agree 100%. Made me tear up... THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONORABLE SERVICE TO OUR GREAT COUNTRY.
And thank you for calling on Vol Fans to STAY regardless of the score.
For those fortunate enough to go to the game, please stay until the end, don't give Alabama the satisfaction of running you out.
Tennesseeans are used to being outmanned and outgunned. I can personally attest to that, I spent last year on a base in the middle of Afghanistan with 71 other americans (2 others were from TN and it was an honor to have them with me because I knew at least 2 people had my back at all times) on Fire Base Cobra. The same base that was on the documentary "inside the green berets." In hard times and troubling times, Tennesseeans rise to the occasion and answer the call. So much is made of 300 spartans that stood against the persian army, but most people dont talk about the 10000 other greeks that stood with them. Not much is made of the 800 men that stood in San Antonio and fought to the last man anymore, Remember the alamo? or the 30,000 other Tennesseeans that went to Texas to stop the Mexican incursion when the call went out for 10,000 men.
Not to compare football to real war, But we find ourselves in the same situation again today, outmanned and outgunned...For those fortunate enough to go to the game, please stay until the end, don't give Alabama the satisfaction of running you out. Show the recruits coming that you will have their back if they choose TN. Show the team that no matter the circumstances, We are Tennessee...and we will fight with everything we have to the last man, no matter the circumstances. Win or Lose today...it is always a great day to be from Tennessee, especially on days like today, where we get to watch our Volunteers defend their home. Go Vols!!!!
