I would be shocked (pun) if Wichita didn't throw the house at him to keep him there after the season he had. I'd bet Hart would have to jump up considerably higher than 1.75 mil to outbid them. A lot of money for a guy that's not asure thing.

I've watched Tyndall for two years at my other school (USM). IMO he is a big time coach, UT could do a lot worse. With UT's rep and facilities, he'd win.

We are going to hire the equivalent to who we hired last time. The Missouri State coach who had never been to the NCAA Tournament.

I think this deserves it's own thread but I don't have the post to make one. I also posted it in another thread. I think everyone needs to read this article on Gregg Marshall. What he says at the end is what will make it very difficult for us because of how Conzo was handled. I'm not a fan of Conzo and I think his team underachieved until they thought he may be fired. Not sure why it took that to get them to play better but that's the perception I have. But the fans need to let the administrators handle these things if you don't like the coach and the product they are putting out just quit going to the games. Money talks and empty seats means a lot less of it.

Rick Byrd would be an upgrade and a great hire. Probably be better for our program in the long run than anyone.

There's so much about this search that's in UT's favor. Everything is lining up for UT to find its guy and make an upgrade.

What I hope fans can realize is that there isn't a hire that will appease everyone. I think Greg Marshall is the closet thing on the board to a hire that would excite everyone. And he is unlikely but not an impossible hire.

Just remember that every other option on our board has positives and needs to be given a chance. Just because it isn't "your" choice doesn't mean it can't work.

Just the fact that Mike Hamilton doesn't have anything to do with the hire makes it an upgrade from the past.

You are so right. EXTREMELY likely UT makes a huge upgrade in both coaching and recruiting.

Honestly, 99% of the names coming out sound fine for me. Not wild about Clemson's guy but that's about it.

The only place some really goofy names (GSU guy, UTC guy, random NBA people, etc) are coming from are fans.

LOL. We are like 36 hours into the search. All that has happened is fans and media speculating this far. We haven't went out and offered 4 coaches and been shot down. We are going to get a good coach. Watch and see.

Hart's main goal here should be to hire the coach that is going to fill the arena. If he hires that Coach what he pays him is not relevant.

Spend the money and make the right hire....
