Greg McElroy on SEC Now when picking the UT -NW game. Picked UT and also said Tenessee will be a national title contender next year. The hype will be off the charts next year.

I hope he's right, but I still have a hard time watching him since he's a Bammer.

Agree, if Dobbs improves his passing skills he will be the dominant QB in the SEC, he already has a great supporting cast. Dominant QBs win championships.

He's a Bammer. He wants to set the expectations so high so that if we don't meet them the peasants with pitch forks, negavols, Grudenites and trolls will run Butch out on a rail and lock in Saban's reign forever.

Lot's of hype this year as well and we finished a respectable but less than projected 8-4. In that show Marcus Spears made the best point of any of them and that was that he thinks the coach's on the sideline grew up a little at the end and started to learn not to be timid and learned how to win games. I think we had the guns to make a run this year but I truly believe this coaching staff lost quite a few games on bad decisions. Will we have the talent next year to make a run at the college football playoff and live up to the hype? I say yes if a couple things happen and those are that Butch and staff continue to grow as coach's and play to win rather than survive and Dobbs has got to get better throwing the ball. If those things happen I think the sky is the limit for the Vols next year. If not...talent level alone will get us back to 8-4.

If the Vols can improve the backend tackling and receivers and skill players stay healthy, I can see the Vols winning the east and who knows from there?

Lets beat NW before we get ahead or ourselves.

NW has no effect on next year's team. We play Bama and Florida at home while USCe and UGA will have new coaches for our toughest divisional road games.

Give him some healthy receivers and a new recruit or two with speed in the slot like Velus Jones and Mecole Hardman and we'll be a great passing team.

I could see Dobbs scoring 40 TDs next year. 25 passing and 15 running.

:bammer:

I'll gladly say that he is probably one of the most informed and knowledgable sportscasters when it comes to the SEC.

He played for Bama, but I have honestly yet to see any obvious 'crimson colored glasses' when he's on-air.

Very professional and I hope he does well in his career post-football.

I think that we will be competing for the SEC Championship, but even then I think Bama has enough talent to win it the next 2 years.
