Not that being called a Pioneer is a bad thing. It's just the simple fact that they didn't even know our school's name. I mean since they're a fairly big bowl and all, I just thought they should at least know that much about us. We HAVE been around for awhile ya know.

It has nothing to do with disrespect; it simply means they are idiots. It amazes how little people know about American history. Anyone should know that Tenn. is the Volunteer state, OK the Sooner, NC the tar hill, OH the Buckeye, Bama the Bear state, etc.

It just hit me while I was watching the Disney channel with my six year old; I goofed, it is the tar heel state not the tar hill state.

This was reported earlier in the week... btw, it wasn't the Bowl who issued the faulty release, it was the Tampa Visitor's Bureau.

Now the real question is why they named that woodpecker the Yellowhammer? Was it because it rimes with rammer jammer?

Maybe it's because he's yellow and hammers his head on a tree, sorta like Tide fans and coaching staff...

Maybe they just need to change their name to the Alabammer Yellowhammers! That might help them get a coach.

How about the Alabama Yellow Tide. Wait a minute, hope no one thinks of their new name in reference to snow.. :whistling: Oh well, guess it doesn't snow much in Tuskaloosa...
