Besides Jack Daniels and George Dickel, are there any other Tennessee Whiskey distillieries in the state? Wikipedia says no, but I was wondering if there were any mom and pop type outfits that were scattered across the state that I didn't know about. (not looking for moonshiners or any illegal outfits of that nature, but legit businesses).

Prichards Distillery

Look for Tennessee distilleries. Tennessee whiskey is a particular type of whiskey.

Yeah, that's interesting. But I was looking for Tennessee whiskey distilleries specifically. I know Kentucky is full of a bunch of bourbon distilleries, but I find it hard to believe that we have way more wineries in Tennessee than whiskey distilleries.

I may keep an eye out for Prichard's rum if I see it, though.

There are literally hundreds of distilleries located in TN. Precise locations are kept quiet. Look for the puffs of smoke in wooded areas, usually near a mountain stream. Use extreme caution if you continue to seek them out. The proprietors guard their establishments with double naught buck and have an extreme prejudice against russian witchdoctors.

There's a rumor a few revenuers went in the hills looking for the stills and never came back down.

I stock up n Pritchards every time I am back in TN. They have a sippin whiskey "Sweet Lucy" that is out of this world. Also have some great Single barrel whiskeys that are very good. The rums are a little stronger. Have some "Sweet Georgia Belle" that is a Peach mango Rum that I use for making Daquiris for the wife and friends.

Bourbon is made in KY,and sour mash in TN.Kinda funny that UT and KY play for the BEER barrel and Indiana and KY play for the bourbon barrel.
