What it will do to the legacy of Fulmer to see his players at a level they never showed under him is something that will be painful for many Vol fans to watch.

Not me!

I think any rational, clear thinking UT fan knows that fulmer was every bit of a detriment to the program than he was a benefit. So, when CLK takes the same material and creates better results, no need to think of fulmer except to appreciate the fact he is gone.

I agree, but I'd like to see these results in reality. Plus, Fulmer won a national title. Every great coach has a lull; we were just impatient with Fulmer's lull.

Besides, he said they played as freshmen...

Kenny O'Neal, Nevin McKenzie, DeAngelo Willingham, Denarius Moore, and Chris Walker played at Cal.

By the end of the season 3 of our 4 DBs were freshmen, and we had freshmen in the rotation everywhere but QB, TE, K, and P.

Plus... freshman starting QBs under Fulmer = Manning, Suggs, Matthews, C. Clausen, Schaeffer, Ainge...
droppin knowledge

Are u really going to list starting qb's under fulmer? Really? Was there any other option those years?.. Also Schaeffer and Ainge were freshmen at the same time so that takes one off the list for freshman who came in and started right away

not freshman.

And the other 2 he named didnt start.. ever...

Manning would have never seen the field his Freshman yr if Colquitt hadn't blown out his knee on the 7th play of the first game.

I still feel bad for Jerry Colquitt.
