Not by the game. The team played pretty well for a first game. The broadcast however was simply atrocious top to bottom. I travel a fair bit and that production was comparable to local coverage in North Dakota for a junior college basketball game.

Maybe the powers that be just assume people will just shell out the money for ppv out of love. That may be true in Tennessee but that game was also on ESPN gameplan and for those outside the state of Tennessee that might be their only exposure to a UT production all year. They might not have lost any fans last night but I can almost guarantee they didn't add any.

Yeah..Randy Smith is just aweful...teririble...sucky...

Playing with the camera zoom thingy during plays.

I told my wife I can't beleive I paid $35 for such a crappy broadcast.

It only cost me $25 on Directv, so I'm not too concerned. The video sucked, the commentary was worse, but I got to see it when I couldn't be there in person. I'm not going to complain!

Yeah, I wanted to throw something at my TV, but I spent too much money to be that stupid. The commentators seemed liked they were uneducated on our team and who our players were. It became funny after awhile (well kinda)

That broadcast was very embarrassing. For the game price of 34.95 the quality should be at least watchable. When is the Vol Network going to upgrade to high definition?

I was in a loud bar, so I was spared the commentary. But the camera work was the worse I've ever seen on any program, sports or otherwise.

I watched for free on ESPN3, and they should pay me for watching. I have listened to Peewee games with better announcers.

$35 was well worth it compared to not watching the game at all, if it was really unbearable just mute and turn on the radio :eek:k:

The way he announced Lane and Poole, you would think they were twins and wearing the same number.

I like how when Fugate caught the kick off and had a decent return they started talking about how the fullback wont get to see the ball much so he had to make the best of it. We throw to the fullback quite often. You could tell they had no idea about UT football. He might not get many touches out of the backfield on hand offs. I am sure he will see his share of passes in the flats.

This is the first year I've ordered ESPN gameplan...I hope this is no indication of production values for the rest of the season....reminded me of watching game film in high school, shot with an 80's camcorder

Yea but do ya'll remember when the pa announcer was introducing the new BB staff and Baseball staff? He murdered some of the assistant coaches names we were sadly laughing our butts off and at the same time felt bad for those coaches.

Yeah, I was thinking...he had already caught a couple passes. One lining up wide. Looks like staff is finding ways to get it to him. He looked good on that run back.

developed a tick from hearing the PA guy say "caught and dropped" over and over. Where I'm from, that's a fumble.

My wife told me to buy the PPV and in my "wisdom" I said I would just watch it on my computer for free. I was right for once in my life because the coverage was terrible and I am glad I didn't spend the money on that mess. I have it dvr'd tonight at 10 on Sports South and it is free.

I have a feeling that Bray having him as a safety valve is going to help this year against sec teams. He is going to force the safety to take a peek in the backfield and Justin and DaRick are gonna burn them.

Jeff Francis was an OK QB for us in his day but is not an eloquent speaker. I imagine that is why he was replaced by Andy Kelly as a sideline reporter.
