Tennessee wants Jamie Dixon or Jay Wright (reaction to Griff's story)

FYI...Gary Parrish and Greg Doyel were railing on Griffith this afternoon. It was priceless.

cities that spend $$ on, oh, I don't know, libraries, museums, restaurants, SIDEWALKS.

Your emphasis on the latter amused me. Some of the sidewalks (such as they are) are crummy, though I don't think that would have much bearing on the quality of life for a UT head coach.

I'll spot you the bucks and the facilities, but people need to get real about Knoxville vs. cities that spend $$ on, oh, I don't know, libraries, museums, restaurants, SIDEWALKS. The big spenders who shell out the cash for UT coaches should think about spending some of that money in Knoxville to make it a city people actually want to move to.

And, by the way, I live in Knoxville, so I'm not just blowing smoke. I'm a UT grad and a loyal fan, but this city has problems.

I doubt Jamie Dixon is thinking, "You know, Tennessee would double my salary, but I just can't go there unless they build a new public library."

...and have you been to Pittsburgh? I don't care if it has the nicest library system in the country, the city is a dump and has few if any redeeming qualities.

Can't believe anyone would suggest Jamie Dixon and Jay Wright are Tennessee's top targets. Why not just go after Phil Jackson?
