Our offensive game plans have really been very basic thus far...and they will continue to be up until the Florida game.

It IS INTENTIONAL by Debord and Jones....they do know what they are doing...and haven't forgotten how to come up with great game plans like OK, Fla, Bama, and NW in the Bowl game.

The video shows that our timing on the Counter-Gap is still not clicking. Hurd is a BEAST, but is hitting the LOS on that play just a step or two too soon....

OL are not getting a good jump off the ball on the snap...and sometimes that creates a big mess in the middle and throws the timing off on some runs, too. They are just not IN SYNC.....YET.....it will get better when Hall gets back....

A whole lot of things that could be said after watching the video, but no point in it.....We gonna see a bunch of the same stuff against Ohio....VT's safeties were playing as shallow as only 7 yards off the LOS against us on a lot of plays--daring us to throw the ball deep....

And when we did throw it deep--even poorly--they couldn't cover us. They didn't match up well with our WR at all....and Jones and Debord knew that...but didn't sling it around everywhere and didn't have to because VT kept turning the ball over....Some were forced by us...and some weren't....

Another W for us and against the ACC....so far--we look like the sleeping bear with huge claws and fangs that is still groggy from last year....and not very hungry--yet.

I hope we are starving for some Gator meat....:salute:

That right is the play of the game and Dobbs couldn't see it love the guy but honestly think he takes a lil away from the O

Just before the ball is snapped you see a deep safety behind the two defenders your saying he blows past. He backs up out of frame before the snap but I'm sure he picked up the deep zone while the other two defenders picked up a crossing route and a man in the flat.

This offense is easy to scheme for if you have good CBs that can play solid man to man. Stuff the box to limit Hurd and defend the deep ball on the perimeter. We don't throw across the middle of the field AT ALL, so LBs can play up and contain Dobbs. UF can do this and will neuter this offense unless something changes. Just my prediction.

But When they do pull those LB's up they will throw over the middle to the TE or RB . I can see what your saying but its not as easy as you think when there playing good.

After watching the offense play by play, I honestly think we look a lot better than a lot of posters here are giving us credit for. The glaring holes in our offense are Drew Richmond and Dylan Wiesman. I'll give Richmond a pass because he's a freshman, but there's no excuse for Wiesman to shed blocks like that. If those two figure out how to hold a block, I think we're worlds better and still in this thing.

Why is Jack Jones not playing as much?

Watched the defensive play-by-play, mostly in slow motion. I was looking for defensive line play mostly, but I made some general observations.

Kongbo is slow to fire off the line every single play. It's very noticeable when he comes out and you see Vereen play the end. He has to get quicker, and if he does, he could be a force.

Shy Tuttle was unblockable. I didn't notice him in there until the second half, but when he came in, he was pushing double-teams into the backfield. There was one play in particular where Tuttle and Mackenzie pushed their blockers into each other and and we easily got to the quarterback. Now that Tuttle is seemingly healthy, I think we'll see him a lot more, and our defense will be soo much better.

Quay Picou and Alexis Johnson got snaps in the second half, and they seemed to really struggle shedding blocks. When Virginia Tech scored that last touchdown, their line got so much push on us, it was inevitable they would score. I know that's what mop-up duty is for, and I know those guys are young, but it tells me how important the health of our line is.

Jumper struggled. Goodness. I know he takes a lot of heat on here, but when you watch him in slow-mo, it's even more glaring. Coach Jones said that the Mike and Will linebackers are interchangeable in this system, so I'm hoping that Maybin gets the nod to play Middle, and McDowell gets the start on the outside. I think the staff will give Jumper a chance against Ohio, but they'll do what's necessary when Florida comes to town. This might be by design as well. Because if Florida sees Jumper starting, they'll try to take advantage of it. So if we let them think Jumper is our guy until gameday, we might take away some of their plan.

Last thing, we're so fortunate to have Sutton and Maybin. Outstanding football players. They'll really be missed next year. Just my thoughts.
