Tennessee vs Vanderbilt game thread

If we had used this game to get Coleman ready to start at QB instead of as a game to play gimmick ball I would feel better.

Ditto. We never committed to any QB in this game, and the gimmick offense (Jones and Berry) is just that, a gimmick. It doesn't fool anybody, and it won't work against a quality defense.

This was, IMO, a game we won despite our mistakes. It was a mistake to start Crompton; it was a mistake to not try to throw the ball vertically (seriously, why do we even line up with WR's?); it was a mistake to not leave BJ in at QB; it was a mistake to not give Stephens at least one series; etc, etc, etc.

In truth, it seems like the coaching staff is determined to leave things as unsettled as possible for the new staff.

Fulmer can get as emotional as he wants. I've been crying over UT football for seven years. Thankfully, we will both get relief after one more week.

Go Vols.

Just as he earned what is happening to him now.

Very true. But that shouldn't earn hatred. It should earn him his walking papers.

Blame Mike hamilton for giving him the stupid contract with the buyout. Hell, would you turn down a six million dollar buyout if it was in your contract?

Yeah if anyone is to blame, that should fall on Hamilton.

No hatred towards Phil. Seems like a nice guy. I would probably enjoy diner conversation with him.

My disdain is for people who say, “He gave his ALL for UT” or people who are in mourning because he is leaving. Having recently lost 2 close family members the thought of someone being in mourning because CPF is leaving makes me think their priorities are out of whack.

I agree with your point on that particular word.

I think that was just a poor choice of words by that particular person. You can feel sorry for the guy. It sucks to lose your job, especially when you've been there in some compacity for almost 40 years.

However, I think people who are talking about how much they hate the guy and are happy for his personal suffering also have their priorities out of whack.

Mourning is definitely a poor choice of words.

How will it carry over to KY? We still look like a Pee Wee team on Offense...our offense is offensive... :furious3::moon2:
