OMG - I must continue to repeat myself after reading your so-called "ramblings" and say that you have a wonderful gift. Your posts, good sir, are not ramblings, but rather poignant letters which bring history to life. The application of military history to the Vols wins and losses is insightful and entertaining!

Thank you for what you bring to VolNation! I think that you should merge all of these Tenn vs the Maxims into a book of sorts.

You can buy one of his books....which is excellent here:
OMG...another great job!

@OneManGang, we understand when life intercedes, and you miss posting a thread. We're grateful for the ones you do post. If you are so inclined, please, post a maxims thread on the 2018 season as a whole. I'm sure that you'll accompany it with an appropriate historical reference.

OK, sorry that there was no report after the Vandy debacle, but my muse fled for the hills and has been hiding since. What remained was the outline of a 45,000 word obscenity-laced rant which would have likely bored even myself after a while no matter how satisfying the concept might have been.

Also, my job has reached new levels in the demands on my time. A perfect storm, if you will.

However, for those of you in the East Tennessee area, I will be reprising my talk on the Cherokee code-talkers of World War I at the Winter Heritage festival Saturday (26 January) at 2:30 in Townsend. Even better, my friend Charlie Rhodarmer will be speaking immediately after. Charlie is the Director of the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore.
