You would have thought we lost the game listening to CRB's interview. Glad he tells it like it is and is not letting up on the players. This team has a steep hill to climb without productive big guys. Hopefully some of the young'uns will improve as the season progresses.

I'm with you. I was happy that he didn't sugar coat it.

Not enough sugar on the planet to coat 35 minutes of that game. It was good to see Mostella have another good game, and at the end of another one too. But its super frustrating watching our major breakdowns on defense occur due to senior mistakes. I hope some of CRB's frustration is directed toward him and his staffs basic defensive preparation.

Without the resurgence of Mostella we lose the ETSU and TSU games. He has really stepped up his game. This team doesn't quit. Punter is unstoppable late in games when he drives to the basket. He either gets fouled or scores. Heck of an offensive player.

I really like watching Punter play. I can't imagine where we'd be this year without his offense.

This team is turning into a fun team to watch. Seeing what Punter can do on offense and what Moore can do on defense is remarkable. Punter looks night and day different from last year. He was a turnover waiting to happen every time down the court when he was pressured while dribbling. He has improved a lot, not sure if it's mostly by CRB & staff or what but what a transformation!

I see Mostella taking the same route as him the next two years and I think he will be a stud. That drive to the basketball where he got an and-1 was one of the nicest drives to the basket I've watched all year from this team the way he positioned his body to absorb the contact and then make the basket was amazing.

One of Kasongo, Alexander, or Reese is really going need to step it up defensively in the post for our team. That one big guy was having his way in the post against them. They could have possibly fouled him a little more because his freethrow shooting was horrendous.

Moore is our best post defender, but he's also our best perimeter defender, and will have to lockdown certain gaurds like he did with DeShields yesterday, which means we need someone to step up on defense in the post. There are some good gaurds in the SEC that will be fun watching Moore shut them down.

No need to sugar coat this win but there are a lot teams that would have folded to a spunky team that was making shots. I thought our defense down the stretch (Moore switching out to #15) made TSt think a lot more and that will hurt a team that felt like they had nothing to lose for 35 minutes. I do love the fight and spurtability in this team. I am also thankful each day I wake up and Rick Barnes is our basketball coach.

Mostella (or Most elks as my autocorrect insists) is really coming around on offense. He might be the most versatile on the team... he can knock down the three, he can blow by a defender, soar to the basket and slam, and he has also been making some of the most spectacular passes (a lot that aren't making the highlights or assist stats as the recipients miss the bunny layups). I would like to see him be more consistent at finishing fast breaks when he has the ball.

CRB mentioned in the post game interview with the announce team that we were allowing TSU to get the ball on the block which allowed an easy turnaround shot. Made some adjustments at halftime which allowed us to double up on that pass inside.
CRB must drink his tea unsweetened as there is no sugar ever mentioned by him. Thank you Texas!

I want to know what happened to mostella's bounce. He barely dunked on his steal yesterday, I mean, unless he's had surgery we don't know about, your bounce just doesn't leave. Unless I was expecting too much.

Or maybe you don't jump as hard to conserve your energy in a game situation when you're wide open

He didn't lose his bounce

It was just odd imo. If I'm not mistaken, that was when we were down 7, a big dunk would've ignited what fans were there, I understand why he didn't bring it all, but it's just odd of how he did it.

Did you watch that play? It got the crowd pumped. But if I had to guess he didn't jump out of the gym because
1. it was late in the 2nd half and he was probably pretty tired compared to when he's in warmups or in a dunk contest where he isn't in the middle of game running up and down the court.
2. He didn't want to do anything fancy because they were down by 7 and he's a smart enough basketball player to know that he needed that shot to go in more than risk missing it on something flashy like a windmill, 360, in between the legs, etc. just to get the crowd more excited.

Not everyone has both the hops and stamina like MJ and Westbrook. Lol

That's true. Lol I guess I was just excited with the open court, it was kind of a let down.i guess we'll maybe get some of
Those next year with Parker. Lol

Yeah we will for sure with Parker on fast breaks if he gets a chance. Not sure if he'll dunk on people like he does in high school. At first at least.

I wonder if Barnes tells them to keep it basic, instead of fancy. I'm sure he does.
