Tennessee vs OSU Sweet 16 Game Thread!

Teehee no more Oden. We are gonna rape them so bad next year.

Oden was hardly a factor tonight (minus the blocked shot on the final play)...they'll be a tough team to beat next year, but I'd be suprised if we lost that game. We're great at home, and almost unbeatable when we're hyped against a good team that we can't stand (Memphis, Florida)...I can't wait to play OSU in Knoxville next year.

Whether he was a factor or not, BP took a lot of scouting and preperation time in limiting Oden.

me either...I tried going to bed, but it ain't happenin'...I'm so proud of this team, but so frustrated with how this game ended.

Really tough loss to handle. It was like the teams switched identities after halftime. But after the great year we've had (and it was a great year), I really can't be too hard on our Vols. But...

Lofton missed more than his share of open looks in the 2nd half. All-Americans need to step up.

JuJuan Smith mysteriously disappeared after halftime. The OSU D was MUCH better the 2nd half but it was more than just that.

My boy Bradshaw made way to many crucial mistakes down the stretch. I feel for him. As I've said before, he's the epitome of the student-athlete. And I believe the team will miss his leadership early next season.

Duke Crews and Jordan Howell were non-factors. Jordan Howell isn't gifted, Duke Crews is. Of course Oden had a lot to do with that.

Wayne Chism has a chance to be special but he has to stay out of foul trouble and develop a new routine at the free throw line. His current method sucks.

Ryan Childress and Josh Tabb did everything they could do to win the game and played well.

Shooting 47% on 8-17 FT's is an absolute disgrace. The Vols have lost several games this year because they can't hit a shot 15 feet from the basket with nobody in their face. This needs to be addressed in a serious way or more heartbreaking losses are in store next year.

Our half court D was basically a no-show the 2nd half. That seems to be a disturbing trend.

IMO Bruce Pearl is one of the best teaching coaches I've seen based on how his players have developed. It looks like he may be a very good recruiter as well. IMO he's a very good to great game coach. Some of his adjustments and scripted plays out of time outs are remarkable.

But...I still maintain that running down the floor all helter-skelter with only a few seconds on the clock with the game on the line when you have a TO left to set up multiple options is...well...not my approach.

Having said that he's making over a million a year coaching a "high major" as he refers to them while I'm setting here in my living room posting my lame comments on some message board while watching the X-Files (one of my favorite episodes BTW and it's made me feel a little better).

As has this post.

Now if you'll excuse me, my total recuperation will require me to play several of the various golf courses across E Tennessee the next few days. :hi:

We have a chance to be special next year. Really special.

Pardon my blathering.

Go Vols!!

That's hilarious...:eek:lol:

I knew if I hung around here long enough, I'd begin to feel a little better about things.
