Tennessee vs Oklahoma: Offense play by play

The one thing that got me was we have a running QB that couldn't shake off the blitz. Oklahoma's QB would make those plays and some how escape 3-5 defenders

Or at least Debord making the necessary adjustments and calls to counter the "blitz fest". Surely they knew opposing defenses would be blitzing during the season.

But one thing I noticed, something that OK did very well with their offense, was the lack of effort from our WRs rerouting and getting open when Dobbs was on the run. I think that allowed for OK to contain Dobbs' mobility when he was forced out of the pocket.

Also, can we look forward to a defensive play by play video as well? Would be greatly appreciated!

For those of you who are eagle eyed and able to go watch the videos:

was it mainly the right side O line that broke down in the second half?
Is the o line using poor techniques or are they outgunned physically/athletically?

You could also see the inexperience as well. Our O-Line wore down as the game went on, even though they weren't on the field as long as the D-Line. The Play calls did change some, but not in a good way. We did have some opportunity in the 2nd half, but the calls up the middle should have been around the end.

Oklahoma was very disciplined against the screen, well coached to look for it. The quick slants were available instead. Wolfe disappeared and would have been a good target for these. Von Pearson's rust showed greatly. We really need to focus on a different line up to counter the blitz, with Ellis in to block and our large receivers and Wolfe to go for quick curls and slants.

Need better and quicker reads on the run option. Dobbs would have been better keeping the ball around the end a few of the times he handed off up the middle. I get the feeling watching the game back that he has been told to not be pulling it down and running with it unless it's a designed play. He scrambled much better last season.

I went back and looked at where Dobbs was throwing the football. Out of 31 pass attempts, I only counted 2 passes in what I would call the middle of the field. He had 0 passes in the middle in the 5-10 yard range. IMO, this is important because it looked to me like this area was open once OU started blitzing. Is Dobbs afraid to throw across the middle or has Butch instructed him not to? Secondly, wouldn't some pass plays to the rb's help us out in a blitzing situation. I'm not sure if our rb's have caught a pass all year.

Our receivers hardly run slants and/or crossing routes. When they do end up in the middle it's a weird angle that allows the db to cover easily. Its not dobbs either. Cbj just doesn't use the middle of the field much. I honestly believe he will incorporate slants, rubs, and crossing patterns now. I hope.
