I would love to see the Miami/Vols matchup.... Not only would it put up and coming programs against each other, it would give Tenn some pub in front of those Miami area recruits

How would you reshuffle this order?

BCS Natl Champ: Florida or Alabama
Sugar Bowl: Florida or Alabama
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Auburn
Outback Bowl: Tennessee
Chick-Fil-A: Georgia
Music City Bowl: South Carolina
Liberty Bowl: Ole Miss
Independence Bowl: Arkansas
Papa John's.com Bowl: Kentucky

Granted this order would take UT beating everyone but Alabama, but beating UGA 45-19, and UGA already beating USCe, and the OM impolsion makes the schedule look alot different.
I'm not saying I don't expect us to make a bowl or anything, I'm just saying I find it amusing that people were saying the season was over and now they think we get to a Jan. 1st bowl.

But no, your order looks about right.

IMO, if this staff gets this team to Outback or Chick-fil-a bowls that is a great accomplishment for year one.

I would even be satisfied with Liberty Bowl or Music City Bowl.

I'd definitely take the Peach Bowl. Yes I called it the Peach Bowl, I refuse to call it the freakin' Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

Anyway, it would be nice to actually show up for that bowl for once too, considering the 2 eggs the 2002 and 2003 teams laid there.

I have gone through the schedules of every SEC team and here's how I think it will shake out

BCS Natl Champ: Florida or Alabama

Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Auburn
Outback Bowl: Tennessee
Chick-Fil-A: Georgia
Music City Bowl: South Carolina
Liberty Bowl: Ole Miss
Independence Bowl: Arkansas
Papa John's.com Bowl: Kentucky

Any other ideas?

Don't you guys need to see the offense move the ball consistently in more than one conference game before you start penciling us in for a Jan 1 bowl? Last week Kiffin was throwing the season away because he doesn't care about winning; this week we're playing on New Year's Day. Some of you guys are on a heck of a rollercoaster.

I was thinking the same thing.

Looking at the schedules from here on out, here's my prediction.

Florida 8-0. 12-0
Tennessee 4-4, 7-5
Georgia 4-4, 6-6
South Carolina 3-5, 7-5
Kentucky 2-6, 6-6
Vandy 0-8, 2-10

Alabama 8-0, 12-0
LSU 6-2, 10-2
Auburn 5-3, 9-3
Arkansas 4-4, 8-4
Ole Miss 3-5, 7-5
Miss St 1-7, 3-9

That would put both UF and Bama in the BCS, with the winner in the MNC game, LSU in the Citrus, Auburn in the Cotton, and Arky in the Outback. The Peach would have their choice between UT, USCe, and Ole Miss.

i think what most tend to forget is that just because a certain school is number "x", doesn't mean they will play in that specific bowl game. GA will play in the peach if they dont make the outback. at this rate, i see us in the music city or liberty.

Good Analysis, and you would think the Peach would go for Kiffin and the upstart Vols and our close proximity to Atlanta!

You think Randy Shannon is one of the best college coaches? With a career record of 15-14, I have to disagree. Larry Coker was much better with a record of 60-15.

Nope. Shannon will win a title at Miami. Coker was a good guy, but when you inherit Butch Davis' leftovers you're set for a few years.

Larry Coker rode a team built by Butch Davis to that record. Once Butch's players left, look at his record.

Randy Shannon is building his team from the ground up.

Thats a bunch of crap...Coker was still playing with the recruits from the pervious coach and when those players started to filter out they started to suck. Randy is playing mostly with his own recruits from the pass 2 years and he is already on his way up

An 8-4 TN has a chance at "peach" or Outback IMO. At 7-5, UT would be looking at Liberty or Music City, which would still be an accomplishment for this team.

Good point. "Peach" probably would pick UGA if Dogs are in the 7-5 range. But if Dogs fall to 6-6, "Peach" may pass up on the home team for a team with a better record.

Plus, Bowls don't only look at season record, they also heavily weigh direction. For example, a team that won big at the start but losses 3 or 4 down the streach is less attractive than a team that is having a lot of success in the second half of the season after a rocky start.

The point is, UT still has a pretty good shot at a very sucessful season given the condition of the roster. Go Vols.

Just as a heads up everyone, the SEC now has the Gator Bowl vs. a Big Ten opponent. They dropped the ACC this year. So now the ACC #2 goes to the Chick-fil-A. You can factor in another SEC bowl, although I don't know what the pecking order is on that one for the SEC.

Edit: Starts in the 2010 season
