Yep, we have to keep Waters out of the lane best we can, absolutely keep him from getting out in transition, and then keep LSU off the offensive glass. They are a very good offensive rebounding team.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t good at it. They are 4th in the country.

Every team plays cupcakes so 4th in the country at this point of the season means you are good on the offensive glass. If another team gets more offensive rebounds than LSU that simply means they aren’t good at defensive rebounding. Giving up offensive rebounds literally has zero relevance as to whether or not LSU is good at it.I’m just not that sure they are great on the offensive glass. Memphis, LA Tech, Charleston, FSU, Houston, St Mary’s, ULMonroe, Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia twice, and Kentucky have all beaten them on the offensive glass. So in 12 of 26 games they have been beaten. Basically half.
I know where they are ranked. But you look at games where they got 18-20 offensive boards against teams outside the top 150...that certainly helps pad the stat sheet. It also means you missed that many shots. High field goal percentage lowers your offensive rebounds.
LSU is a good basketball team, no question. I think we are better. If we hold them under 30 per half I think we win. Reid is going to do what he does. He’s too long to just shoot over. Hopefully Grant can create some contact and get him in foul trouble. They are a different team with him off the court.
We can handle Waters. He’s going to get some wide open looks and hit some 3s...but that hasn’t been enough to beat us all year.
We need better play from Admiral and Kyle to help Williams on the inside, and I think we take this one.
This one gets won or lost in the paint in my opinion.

I could see free throws being the difference ultimately but I agree play in the paint will be key. It’ll likely be close. We need much better shot selection than we had against KY and that starts with better ball movement on offense.
After watching LSU play UF last night I believe UT is the better team. I believe we will win at LSU Saturday. It will be a tight game, but I pray we have rested well yesterday and they had to play an OT game last night and got beat. So, Go VOLS!! Beat the Tigers!
Well, LSU ranks ahead of UK in both ORebs/gm (#5 nationally) and OReb % (#4 nationally). I think they will give us the same problems if we choose to give them free paths to the basket like we did UK.Pace of play primarily. LSU likes to push the tempo. They are an offense-led team. I think we are going to do well in any game that has good offensive flow. I realize they rebound well but I don't think they have the edge on us that Ky had there.
