Well, now you're making excuses in case you lose. Kind of interesting to go on another team's board and do that. You might want to research our situation and see what you find. Aside from that, Gonzaga has a great coach and a great program. I actually enjoy following them and am quite intrigued by their continued success. Much luck this year, except on Sunday.I kinda wish the Zags were a little healthier (i.e. 2 of the top 6 guys will be in street clothes) but it is what it is ... no excuses, just basketball.
And speaking of Rui Hachimura, one of my favorite all time "lines" came from the Ohio State board's NCAA round of 32 game thread.

"Does anybody know if LeBron made a trip to Japan 19 years ago?"
I noticed Walton giving the officials a hard time. Also, Auburn blew Washington out earlier in the year, but we all know basketball is a different animal. Never know what can happen.Washington's coach was Boeheim's right hand man for a couple of decades and the Huskies are in year 2 of playing the Syracuse zone. They are a good team, should dance this year (and are picked by some to win the Pac 12) and they played well the other night. Gonzaga was fortunate to win (and benefited from a couple of whistles ... not usually the case with Gonzaga ..... my opinion).
GU uncharacteristically played tentative on defense against UW and it appeared to me that they were very low on gas by the end of the game. Gonzaga was fortunate to get the "w". Many of Washington's points came from dribble penetration and GU's point guard (Josh Perkins) didn't get saddled with reach ins/slaps on the wrists or with the body fouls ... and stayed on the floor.
I'm VERY hopeful that Sunday's game will be more in line with this past Saturday's Creighton game than Wednesday's Washington game.
Sorry, no offense taken or harm intended. I love that you all beat Duke, and quite frankly, that was a great college basketball game. I watched the Washington game.....felt like the Zags played a bit slower than they preferred, which might have played into the Huskies preference. Still, was surprised by the closeness. Is that correct, or were there other factors involved?
If the Zags are truly down a couple men due to injury it certainly can be a factor. The Zags with and inside game makes for a deadly team because you always have to be aware of the kick outs for all those 3's......
When it comes to our bench play there is a huge fall off against the Zags. Our guys need somewhat more than a breather and we definitely have to have bench scoring. I hope our guys who come off the bench can develop their shots and play good D without all the fouls and turnovers.
Whoever gets the hot hand needs to shoot until they start missing. Have to have ice in their veins. We miss Turners shooting for sure. If the Zags are truly down a couple men due to injury it certainly can be a factor. Huh?
Zags bench: 13.3ppg 8.6rpg 1.2apg 0.3spg 0.8bpg 3topg
Vols bench: 11.8ppg 7.4rpg 3.8apg 1.3spg 0.7bpg 1.9topg
Zags play 7 and are ranked #1I think Fulky needs to develop his shot in the 10 ft range and take it when open. Dribble, Penetrate, not so much. Way to many turn overs last game for Fulky.
Pons needs to begin to come into his own. I think the talent is there. Go to his strengths. Cause some mismatches with him. Look to take it to the basket more often and some back door plays. See if you can get Jalen Johnson more involved. He has a good shot.
The Zags are really going to pressure the vols. Vols need to feed the hot hand early and often.
Bench play can be playing a role player. Bench players can also move into the starting rotation. Having at least 7 players who could also start is my optimal idea and 9 deep.
UT is 4-13 in 17 meetings against the number one team in the country and it should be a very good game as long as UT pounds the ball inside and limits the 3 point attempts...... Given the size of Gonzaga, could Kent see some minutes tomorrow if Alexander, Fulkerson and Walker all get into foul trouble?
I remember that!
