What does it matter?
Some of you are making Knoxville sound like Atlanta...quit making excuses...on at least two occasions when we played (96 and 08 come to mind), fans at Neyland left the game far earlier than they should have. I'm guessing it wasn't because these people had tickets for the 7:00 performance of Cirque de Soliel. They just flat out quit on the team, and there's no excuse for that.

I agree, we should support our team regardless of the score.
I agree that you should stay for the whole game, but it's disingenuous to imply that the entirety of other fan bases would stick around for the entire game in a blowout loss. Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, it doesn't matter. If your team is down by double digits in the fourth at home, fans are going to start leaving. This problem is amplified when the fan base has been trained to expect failure, and that's where our fans now are.
There are far more fair weather fans in every fan base than loyalists.
I agree you can't expect an entire fan base to stay put during a woodshed beating, regardless of what side you're on.
That said, there's no excuse for fans leaving before halftime in 96 or midway thru the 3rd quarter in 08. I sat thru every minute of that Bama fiasco last year....ditto for the Nebraska Fiesta Bowl masacre.

Don't even drag the team that lost to Wyoming into this. 1996 is one thing since we still had a chance, but that abomination of an offense we had in 2008 deserved to be walked out on. People were fed up with King Phillip.

What's your point? Tennessee has a fair amount of fair weather fans? Save your breath just about every team does. In 96 people were tired of getting drubbed by Florida every year and i guess they just didn't want too stay to see the replay. They left and the Vols made a pretty good run at them, shame on the ones that left. Although the outcome was decided in the first half. That stuff happens everywhere. What about the '96 game?

No it doesn't happen everywhere. Case in point was our game in '95 when UT was pounding the snot out of UF. We can agree to disagree on this all day long.
There is NO EXCUSE for fans of the 2nd ranked team in the country to bail on their team in the first half, in the biggest game of the year. That was inexcusable.
Whatever dud, if you don't like it, why don't you find another website to troll. We're all fair weather fans here and not worthy of your time. I don't think you'll be missed though, just saying.
You and LG are just about the same. Suttle jabs here and there. Basically telling us our team sucks and fans suck in a nice way. I don't need to here it. I told you why they probably left, i wasn't there so i couldn't ask them on their way out the stadium. I'd say it has to do with Florida dominating Phillip Fulmer's teams basically through the whole decade of the 90's. People were probably tired of watching it.Actually it's you that doesn't like my opinion, that's all. Nothing to get all worked up and sensitive about.
UT has great fans, and I understand the mass exodus in '08, but I'll never understand '96 when you had one of the best teams in the country.

That's great and i'll take your advice, but there hasn't been much to be critical about UF in awhile now has it? Except maybe the SEC championship game last year. On the other hand you offer us your opinions on Tennessee and you're right, i don't give a crap what you think about Tennessee or their fans. Then simply ignore my posts, you'll feel much better apparently.
I've been critical of UF here on many occasions too.
