Tennessee vs Arkansas State - Game Thread.

The 377 yards that ASU got tonight was ASU's lowest of the season. They scored 13 on Texas' defense and 20 on the Vols'.
It looks like the young guys have really helped, I think that the season is looking better and better; sure they have a long way to go, but at least they are moving.

My assessment:

Offense looks pretty good, with the exception of Austin Rodgers dropping passes all over the place. I think Coker makes a big difference in how dynamic our offense is with his ability to run and catch passes. Protection for Ainge was excellent. Ainge was excellent.

Defense still gives up too many big plays -- especially running plays. There were still lots of missed tackles out there. On the plus side, I thought we did a very nice job of pressuring their quarterback.

Colquitt rocks. Lincoln is a gamer (knock on wood). Hefney really sucked out loud this week on punt returns.

Overall, a nice win that we HAD to have before the off-week and Georgia game. Let's not go licking each other's popsicles, though. This WAS Arkansas St. that we played tonight. And we DID give up a lot of points to them. Our offense will have to be "on" in every big game, because I don't trust our D to stop anybody.

And Bama just lost ... so it's a good day.

Agreed. Berry and Vinson in 2 years?

(if they continue to develop)

I look forward to many years of seeing Berry at safety and Vinson at corner together. Maybe we won't have to keep dialing 911 for the burn unit to respond to our secondary after they've been burned....

the scariest part of my day was watching a 1 and 3 Ole Miss team give Florida a game at 24-30, while we lose by 39.

I doubt the Gators were as pumped up to play Ole Miss as they were us. Just shows us that they aren't 30 points better than us, but they played a hell of a game, and we didn't show up. Living in Florida, you don't know how much THAT sucked for Vol fans living here. The Gators are over rated, they'll lose 2 games this year.

The Gator loss pained me greatly. Where are you at FLvolfan?

BTW, Ole Miss always plays Florida close.

Boynton Beach, which is Just south of West Palm Beach. I used to have to hear it from those criminals from Miami, but since their demise, they have been quite of late. They looked pretty good last night though.

I used to live in boynton. There is a group that meets in north palm beach at Duffy's sports bar. They have a room to themselves with like 6 tv's and a raffle at halftime. We went for the UF game...it was a pretty good time.

Are you still living in WPB?
