I agree. Great showing of heart and determination in the final 2 minutes of that game. Great game plan by Bruce and good job by Lofton carrying us to our 1st road win, and hopefully locking up that NCAA tournament bid and SEC Player of the Year for him.

Great game Vols...ugly at times, but we're no longer winless on the road in this conference. And we just punched our ticket to the dance (imo).

The "we suck" part, OK, I overreacted.

But, can anyone on this board tell me that we do not rely way too much on Lofton? Tell me again, how many good wins did we have without him in the lineup...???

Why would you NOT rely on perhaps the best shooter in the nation?

I don't think that's really a point of contention on this board. Everyone knows that Lofton is our go-to guy...but I do think our freshman have done a lot of growing up this season.

there are a lot of teams that would have been terrible without their star player though. take last year, if Duke and Gonzaga hadn't had JJ and Morrison, respectively, how would they have played?

Again, you can not read my post without putting words in my mouth. I don't recall saying we shouldn't rely on him. I recall saying we do wayy too much. Any team that relies on 1 player that much can not be a good team at this level. Duke did it last year, and got put out when he didn't have a good game. It will happen to us this year.

Thoughts:
1. Patrick Beverley may win Freshman of the Year. However, there's no doubt Ramar Smith is the best freshman in the conference.
2. Stan Heath has absolutely no business coaching in the SEC.
3. Tennessee should refrain from attempting to run clock with a lead at the end of games. Just keep doing what you do well.
4. Watching UT is like watching the NBA. It's an exchange of runs.
5. Great win. Makes Tuesday night's game fun, not must win. Can't wait to get to town.

I see your point. Now help me out with mine... How far did either of those go in the tournament?
