No matter who wins this game, there is one undeniable fact: Tennessee is, and always has been, a better state to live in. Here are some of the facts confirmed by research data. People in Tennessee are generally happier, wealthier, and better educated than residents of Alabama. The State of Tennessee has lower taxes, better public schools, better state parks, lower murder rates, more dentists (hence more teeth!), and better health care than the State of Alabama.

Tennessee has also had a much more important influence on U.S. History with 3 presidents and a two-term Vice President from the Volunteer State, whereas there have been zero presidents from Alabama and only one Vice President who died six weeks into his term as VP. During the Civil Rights Movement, Tennessee’s delegation of Senators refused to sign the pro-segregation “Southern Manifesto.” On the other hand, Alabama had a shameful record of violence and extremist racism during this era, including Gov. George Wallace’s infamous stand against integration at the University of Alabama. Tennessee is the birthplace of country music, rock-n-roll, and bluegrass; Alabama is the birthplace of Golden Flake potato chips, municipal bankruptcy (Birmingham 2011), and Jameis Winston.

Tennessee has better roads, bigger mountains, longer rivers, lower poverty rates, stronger economic growth, lower unemployment, lower obesity rates, better tourist attractions, more professional sports teams, and trendier cities. Almost any way you look at it, the State of Tennessee is superior to Alabama.

Chin up, my fellow Vol fans! Regardless of the outcome of the game next week, take pride in the fact that you live in the Volunteer State!

GO VOLS! BEAT BAMA!

The only thing Alabama has on Tennessee is a few more football wins by their university...and AUBURN is their land-grant school, so the red turd isn't even their state school! That whole state should have a fence around it so the rest of us can use it as a prison & garbage dump.

I don't care about the things I can control, such as obesity or unemployment. I only care about the 1 thing I have no control over. Football.

A lot of states flagship universities aren't land-grant...usually the little brother is. UT is an exception

I would love to have a controlled demolition of the borders of Alabama and just blow the whole state out into the ocean. They could be their own country.

Tennesseans need good roads in order to visit our relatives who often live many miles away. In Alabama, most family members live in the same trailer park and the uncle, daddy, grandpa, cousin, etc. are usually the same man.

As a casual observer, I haven't noticed another state with better roads than Tennessee.

Alabama has got some of the ****tiest highways ive ever driven on, so saying Tennessee has better roads isnt saying much

microbreweries per state
Al. 19 0.6 per 100,000 person
Tn 39 0.8 per 100,000 person
I take no credit for this, got it from the Brewers Asso. Maybe in the next few years I can find out for myself.

Seeing as Microbreweries were illegal in Birmingham until a few years ago this stat is irrelevant..
